Yeah, no brainer for me too, which is why Cleveland likely says no.I would take this and run.
JD just randomly showed up at AllPro sports in Newmarket which has been around forever.
When a ball hits the ground and then hits the batter that’s considered a hit batter?? Thought it had to hit the batter first?
Correct. Umps used to call ball around 50 50 because the hitter could have avoided it
Weird. Last playoff game the ball clearly bounced and hit the player. He was given first base. No argument.

If somehow the Jays can acquire this guy with Minny picking up half of his salary that would be major coup. He is exactly what this teams needs going into next season. Defensively sound, and a great clubhouse guy for younger guys. Would fit right in with this group.
Josh Donaldson's defense completely tanked last season (he's now old and coming off multiple injuries) and I see nothing to suggest that he's a "great clubhouse guy", whatever that even is.

Literally the worst defensive 3B in baseball last year. Kyle Seagar put up a better year, will cost less, is a FA, and a likely bounceback candidate (especially if he got to hit in the homerdome 81 games a year).
Yeah, it's 100% a HBP if it hits the batter after bouncing.
Seager is a good Plan D or E. He shouldnt be the target.
Ramirez is 1, Chapman 2. maybe Bryant 3. Outside of that you are looking at a SS or 2b to move to 3B like the other Seager, Baez or Correra.
Chapman should be easier to get.
