This is what drives me nuts about Fletcher. We all wanted q but when he wasn't available he stayed locked on that proven vet mold. Like if a first line center isn't available he won't move off even if the next best is a third line guy.
I'm half expecting him to sign evander Kane so we can just loathe the whole team
Who hired Lavi? There's your answer. The same guy who fired Hextall for sticking with a college HC.

It’s frankly f***ing disgusting that people are advocating for Q. He was part of the brain trust who protected a molester. There is a level of basic decency and humanity that is non-existent there that is unforgivable, straight-up.
I wasn’t advocating for Q, just pointing out what the unimaginative and spineless Chuckles might be thinking.

Whoops! I wasn’t clear. I’ve seen this advocated for elsewhere. No worries man!
No problem, Ted, I didn't think you were referring to me. I wasn't clear that I don't support coach Q coming back, just that it's the kind of thing Chuckles would do. Also, would Q even come back for this tire fire?

Unlikely, since he has stated in the past that he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild.

I will say this, Trotz seems like the kind of coach that would not tolerate playing players like Yandle or Thompson. He'll probably play Mac though, sadly.

However, all those insanely bad defensively lapses, I think, would happen a lot less under Trotz, leading to less goals against. While the Flyers had problems scoring, I think the bigger issue was just how truly bad their defense was as they constantly left their goalie out to dry game after game after game.

Ugh, Trotz now? F***'s sake. Not that it matters. Not that anything matters.

Why would he want to come here?
I mean, I would think most places looking for a coach all have their issues. The Flyers at least on paper have some promising players including a potential star goalie and a top pick in this year's draft. I'm not going to pretend like this is the most desirable coaching job in the world, but the Flyers have money and at least a skeleton of what the team CAN look like. Plus I would assume that a lot of these guys like the idea of turning things around. They aren't just looking for a cushy job (hopefully).

If Trotz means Scott won't push for Quenneville or Tortorella, get me Trotz posthaste.

(That said, I still have about 12 guys on my list before him, I just know we aren't hiring any of them.)

Trotz is another retread who won’t win squat here despite people getting caught up in the moment and pretending like it wouldn’t be.

He got his token Cup in DC. Got a couple ECF appearances with the isles to boost his HOF legacy. His next stop will just be Babcock in Toronto mediocrity.

Find the next Doug Pederson or Charlie Manuel. Find the next hidden gem. No more Girardi’s, Doc Rivers, Vigneaults.

Would he consider himself fit well with Chuck?

Do you mind sharing your list and why? Just for curiosity and information.

One can complain about a few things regarding Trotz's coaching style but the guy has structure to the play of his teams and they win. It's not my preference in play but it is successful to a degree. His record with the Isles is not bad considering how the schedule was stacked against them.
What concerns me is his moving from Nashville to Washington and now the Isles. Is he one of these inflexible guys where it's his way or the highway and he clashes with the FO?

NYI last 3 seasons:

5v5:
Shots Attempts For - 28th
Shot Attempts Against - 28th
Differential - 29th

xGF - 21st
xGA - 18th
Differential - 18th

PP:
GF/60 - 20th
xGF/60 - 21st

PK:
GA/60 - 4th
xGA/60 - 12th

Counterpoint: Trotz simply existing with a brain outcoaching a comically overrated Vigneault landing him the job with the same franchise is hilarious.
