Well, the Leafs have won at a 110pt clip since Keefe took over. Imo that makes me more right about the quality of this team than the people who claimed the GM had gutted this team and turned it into a bubble team.

It's not all about points.

That's very true but these +- numbers don't even begin to scratch the surface if we're going to compare these two players. I mean Seattle is a much worse team so in general so their +- numbers will be worse for starters. Then there's all kinds of other things to consider, too many to list here.

I have no idea how well McCann is playing but 10 goals is pretty good, I just looked it up and that puts him tied for 14th in the NHL. If you look at the guys ahead of him, they're mostly really good players. Hell look at the guys he's tied with, among other players there's Matthews and Tavares, those guys are damn good.

Kerfoot I would actually give up picks to get rid of, let alone (lol) protect.

Dermott and Holl I'm fine with at their rolls... but to expose McCann over them? Guy paced for almost 30 goals last year... And add in that (for some reason I'll also never understand), it appeared out of Kerfoot/Holl/Dermott, Seattle seemed most interested in Kerfoot. So good riddance. Why trade for McCann then?

I think, overall, the reason I don't understand it is because it doesn't make any sense.
