I actually bought Tattoo You when it came out. ('81). The critics were not especially kind to their 1980 follow up to Some Girls ('78), Emotional Rescue.

It was cringeworthy then, and remains so,

Fave rave from Tatoo You,

Finally, saw them at the Pontiac Silverdome for that tour. Iggy opened for them. Iggy, who is from Ann Arbor. They threw beer bottles at him.

So true.

Disco Stones.

my son and i will see him in march. its been a few years. my 1st springsteen show was at the old garden in 1977. incredible performer and band.
It's possible I was with you there! Agree completely. I know some people aren't into him, but to me he's the man. I feel lucky to have seen him. Tightest band in Rock N Roll in my opinion. Showmen through and through -- and not in a cheesy way.

I really haven't listened to any of Springsteen's later work.

The last album I borrowed from the library and "burned" to a CD was 2007's Magic, which imho is a very good record. I like it for various reasons.

Favorite track: "Girls In Their Summer Clothes," an instant classic almost worthy of Brian Wilson's nocturnal emissions,

Also,

BTW, the individual who famously asked the rhetorical question, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" became a long time Senator from the state of Massachusetts, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, and eventually Secretary of State.

I believe I said this before. Waiting on a Friend is one of my favorite Stones songs. I remember when MTV firsts came out my daughter would watch the video. Love the saxophone.

I seem to remember this. It was certainly my favorite from that album.

I must say, I always hated "Start Me Up," which is basically a riff and little else.

It was a big hit, as you likely recall.

To quote Dylan putting down the equally vacuous Power Station hit "Some Like It Hot,"

"I used to think I knew what a song was. Now I'm not so sure.

" 'Some Like It Hot.' Oh man. Mercy. It's just people dancing to a pack of lies."

I haven't listened extensively to much of his recent work. I'm a little crusty that bruce cancelled a show here in North Carolina a few years back. I thought his dewas a huge swing and miss b

i'm guessing the perfect sax part was the great Bobby Keys but i've never checked on that. i love it as well.

Magic very under-appreciated.

3 versions of a song off of Nebraska, one of my favorite of Bruce's albums. Ryan Adams just released a cover of the entire album for free to download. All 3 are different and all good, but I actually like The Band's version the best.....

nebraska is one of my favorites. thanks for posting.

very cool. thanks for posting. an amazing talent!

a really fine player. i saw him with lucinda the 1st time i saw her. great clip.
Lucinda Williams? I should know her, but don't, really.

His solo on that one is for the ages.

I wasn't feeling particularly warm and cozy in high school 1981. Actually, I hated it with a vengence.

This tune helped. It was warm, and wise. (I wasn't.)
