Los Lobos do a great cover of this song too, in case you haven't heard it. I'm a HUGE Los Lobos guy......
Of course it is.It is. It's called Xfinity Center now.
Did Robert Smith wear his pancake?Same here. Saw one of the best and one of the worst concerts of my life there, and they were both by The Cure.
If I remember, at Great Woods I saw New Order, Peter Gabriel, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bryan Ferry, The Cure (twice), REM, and went to see the Psychedelic Furs, but it got rained out due to a leak in the roof over the stage. I'm sure I saw more, but the 80s were kind of hazy for me.
Of course it is.
Did Robert Smith wear his pancake?
What is he, 78 years old?
Man, as some of you may already know, I could talk about and listen to Tejano and Norteno music all day long......My ancestors are traditional German, who settled the great plains. The accordion and polka music was just something I grew up with. When I moved to Texas in the 80s and I discovered Flaco Jimenez and Ramon Ayala and some of the great music of south Texas/northern Mexico, it was amazing.Los Lobos on the other hand...
Well, you bat .500. Par for the course. He was in full regalia. This was about 1989. The excellent show, I took my southern belle girlfriend. All the way down she was complaining about having to go see "those weirdos in all black". We had second row seats, and by the time of the first encore she was climbing over the first row trying to grab Robert Smith's foot. She was stunned at how great it was.
The other show was terrible and boring.

You simply have not lived until you've been to a big Mexican wedding with a live Tejano/Norteno band.....Nothing compares. My wife still loves it when I sing her Norteno songs in Spanish.....
Never a Dead fan. Not into jam bands. To each his own.
Los Lobos on the other hand...
This makes me very sad. I saw CS&N (also with Young) many times. One of my very favorite groupsJim Murray just said Davupsid Crosby died.
I wonder what the reaction will be.Jim Murray just said David Crosby died.
sadness...and yes I know he had a big mouth and would piss off the others, but I believe they were like brothers after playing together for over 50 years. The music was so good.I wonder what the reaction will be.

This was close to the first time I saw KISS....before I was into Bee Gees, Peter Frampton etc....went to see KISS at the old Greensboro Coliseum.....had seats in the first row upper level.....after the first fireworks blast and hearing Strutter I was HOOKED!!! It was the Saturday before July 4th and in the 'olden' times stores were closed on Sunday and the following Monday for the Holiday....I had to wait THREE days before buying their music....He was in full regalia.
