A stripped down version of Teach Your Children with Croz and Nash
sCrosby babbles some strange-sounding words like "Whoopa, hey mesa, hooba huffa, hey meshy goosh goosh" at the beginning of the song.
He could be an asshole and admits that. While I hope he rests in peace, I was never a CSN or CSNY fan, just never my bag. Saw a recent documentary on Crosby , Remember My Name and I simply felt the guy comes off like an egomaniac and borderline horses arse but I digress
Thanks for sharing...I can totally see the smile. There were times when David was so messed up, he would forget the words. Stills would get so pissed at him. One concert I went to in Worcester (1980s) Stills was flipping him the bird during the concert. I have seen then many times and this was the only show that I thought they were "off".
In the early 2000s my daughter was working in Manchester (NH). Her company had a box at the arena there (hockey is also played there). We went to see CS&N there. Each played a few of their own songs. When Crosby came out by himself, he had a shit eating grin on his mischievous face. He said he was on the watch list for some of the Gov. Agencies but not yet on the CIAs, so he wrote them a song....It was funny.
Oh boy.... let's see (I think we might have been at on or two GW shows together!)I know I won't remember them all...
Tom Petty several times (also with Bob Dylan)
Allman Brothers several times
James Taylor a couple of times
Jackson Browne
CS&N several times
Neil Young several times
Clapton
Sting (His Nothing like the Sun Tour. It was quite good}.
Santana with Robet Cray
I know there are more...
Man, as some of you may already know, I could talk about and listen to Tejano and Norteno music all day long......My ancestors are traditional German, who settled the great plains. The accordion and polka music was just something I grew up with. When I moved to Texas in the 80s and I discovered Flaco Jimenez and Ramon Ayala and some of the great music of south Texas/northern Mexico, it was amazing.
You simply have not lived until you've been to a big Mexican wedding with a live Tejano/Norteno band.....Nothing compares. My wife still loves it when I sing her Norteno songs in Spanish.....
Oh boy.... let's see (I think we might have been at on or two GW shows together!)

John Mellencamp
Stevie Ray Vaughan

Springsteen at Fenway
Nathanial Radcliffe
Elbow
Kings of Leon
Gregg Allman with the Brothers many times (several at Great Woods) Once at Hampton Beach by himself
Elvis Costello (I believe, seen him a bunch -- think it was at GW)

John Hyatt (again, same with Elvis C)
Neil Young many times
Stevie Winwood

Wonder if Neil will have anything to say.from Stephen Stills ..
"Stephen Stills said in a statement, “I read a quote in this morning’s paper attributed to composer Gustav Mahler that stopped me for a moment: “Death has, on placid cat’s paws, entered the room.” I shoulda known something was up. David and I butted heads a lot over time, but they were mostly glancing blows, yet still left us numb skulls.I was happy to be at peace with him. He was without question a giant of a musician, and his harmonic sensibilities were nothing short of genius. The glue that held us together as our vocals soared, like Icarus, towards the sun. I am deeply saddened at his passing and shall miss him beyond measure.”

from Graham Nash....
"It is with a deep and profound sadness that I learned that my friend David Crosby has passed,” Graham Nash posted on Instagram. “I know people tend to focus on how volatile our relationship has been at times, but what has always mattered to David and me more than anything was the pure joy of the music we created together, the sound we discovered with one another, and the deep friendship we shared over all these many long years. David was fearless in life and in music. He leaves behind a tremendous void as far as sheer personality and talent in this world. He spoke his mind, his heart, and his passion through his beautiful music and leaves an incredible legacy. These are the things that matter most. My heart is truly with his wife, Jan, his son, Django, and all of the people he has touched in this world.”

I wonder tooWonder if Neil will have anything to say.
"Neil Young is in mourning after the death his longtime past collaborator David Crosby, with whom he remained estranged until his death. The fellow music legend, 77, shared a statement after David’s passing on Jan. 19, 2023. “David is gone, but his music lives on,” Neil wrote on his website, the Neil Young Archives, the following day. “The soul of CSNY, David’s voice and energy were at the heart of our band. His great songs stood for what we believed in, and it was always fun and exciting when we got to play together. Thanks David for your spirit and songs. Love you man. I remember the best times!” "Wonder if Neil will have anything to say.
