I know nothing about the game except whomever plays it just a bunch or dorks :D. That being written from a pure entertainment standpoint it was great. Lot's of good humor.

And well-plotted. Most of the scripts for these sorts of films are really just a bunch of lazy gibberish, but not here. It's actually about something. Comfortingly predictable while still mildly subverting expectations, and everything snaps into place neatly and resonates thematically.

Just finished watching Cocaine Bear. If you haven't seen it, ratchet your expectations to just slightly higher than Sharknado. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, which I wasn't expecting.

I also watched RocKabul, a documentary about Afghanistan's first heavy metal band. Did some research on it before I watched it, and, as a result, I had high expectations. It met them. Highly, highly recommended.

Took the kid to see the Mario movie. Her second theatre experience.

I caught a bunch of Easter eggs for those that have been playing Mario games for decades, but I'm sure I missed more than I saw.

Fun movie and certainly set up for sequels. Kids will love it. Cynical movie critics will hate it.

The Child saw it on opening day, she said her favorite part was "All of it."

Watched the latest episode of The Mandalorian. I think The Armorer is aligned with Moff Gideon. How else were Moff’s soldiers able to get that armor
All I know is the armorer was trying to charge $90 each for a group “virtual meet and greet”. Insane.
$90 to be in a group of people, to not meet an actress, who’s face you never see in the show.

I just wish they would hire a military adviser for these blaster battles. There is zero tactics involved.
I get they have armor, but still. Give me something here.
