It was a very decent movie, though, and that look suited the movie's tone.

Worst Sci-Fi movie: the Crawling Eye; Forrest Tucker in a movie he should not have made and it shows ; makes Them! Look like a Spielberg production.

Fav Sci-Fi : Day the Earth Still Still; the religious clues grow each time I see it. Apparently the writers did not think it that way until someone pointed it out. Ascending and descending, resurrection, miracles, believers ( Patrick Neal) and non-believers ( Hugh Marlowe ) Klaatu as Mr “Carpenter “ or tagged/engraved baggage J.C. Gort as god, maybe; US Army as Pilate, maybe and Sam Jaffe as Einstein.

in the immortal words : Klaatu barada nikto

Robert Wise, the director of the movie, when asked at the Oscars and won an achievement award, what does it mean, he responded, “ Thank you for the award from the bottom of my heart “

oh yeah, as a kid this movie scared the crap out of me

You know what I just remembered?

“Somehow Palpatine returned.”

Now you all have to remember it too.
I say this all the time to my nerd 15yo kid when something can't be explained...

That movie is the essence of, "whatever you will pay to see it" from this South Park clip:
