It looks like the Jets could have two dominant first lines if Wheeler can shake off some rust and get going. I like what we potentially have there.

I like our top 6 composition better then any other Canadian team outside of possibly Edmonton due to the two headed monster they have. I will also take our third line over every team in the division.
Yep, but past McJesus and Drai (who is elevated because of McJesus, but still damn good) they have nothing.

Not sure about others, not sure if it's the high of game one I'm currently on.......but IMO that game by Laine ranks as his 3rd best game in his career in my eyes. Ranked only behind hit hat trick winner in OT vs the Leafs and his five goal game vs the Blues.

Offensive ability is natural for Laine, but he wins me over with the defensive effort, phyiscal play/fire and standing up for his team mate tonight. Well done

I'm not comfortable with Beaulieu on any pair. He's a gaffe waiting to happen.

He's not great, but other than Poolman going back to the third pairing who else plays there. Not sure when Samberg & Heinola will get a chance, I would like to see either slide into that third pairing once PMO thinks they are ready.

Got their act together in the 2/3rd - defense settled down and stopped running around like headless chickens.
I thought all 4 lines played well as the game wore on -

Top 6 looks well balanced and this should provide some breathing room for Scheif and Wheels.
Ehlers is doing what he does best - his zone entries are a thing of beauty and will make this line more than a cycle squad (as you seen tonight). Wheels and Scheif need to figure out how to play with a guy like this - he's backing off defenders and opening up a ton of space - both of these guys need to find that space. Wheelers best bet is to head for the net - Scheif should be setting up for the shot. When they figurer it out, look out.

Stastny is a calming force out there - his wingers are going to have a lot of fun playing with him. He's never out of position and doesn't try to do too much. Laine and KC look very comfortable with each other and Stast's just lets them do their thing. I was really impressed with how well this line gelled considering the short camp.

We have a lot of fire power with this top 6 and when they are skating, they will be hard to handle -

The bottom half of the line up is all work - they are not going to contribute much on the scoreboard but they will wear you out. If Copp and Lowry can develop any scoring touch, they would be a force to deal with. They seem to have the puck a lot in the O zone - they just don't know what to do with it.
The 4th line is safe -

I look forward to seeing more of the Laine we watched tonight - he makes me shake my head sometimes. When he wants to dominate, he does - I just hope he does it often and can stay motivated. He can obviously move his feet as shown in OT tonight - do it more often and he will live up to his potential. He's off to a great start - keep it up

Simple fix is putting Morrissey back on the PK so that you don't need Beau in the lineup for the PK. This would allow Moe to slow bake his young dmen which is what he likes to do. By the halfway point Samberg will be a regular on the PK and JoMo can go back to eating a lot of ES minutes like tonight.

edmonton - vancouver.

these 2 teams one line teams.

i also want my players to have chanche to play 30 min games and having one PP formulation that play full PP. at least laine should always play full PPs for maximum goals to scoreboards jumbotrone. those 2 teams mentioned having 10 min PP in game and some players play full 10 min!!!

wonder how many goals laine put in vancouver at this point of career with all PP times and full 30 min games sometimes. wrong players are tried to putted to cover. still laine very often mentioned as of today at NHL headquarters despite low minute playing and stastnybraked and all . amazing !

Idle thoughts of an addle'd mind...

Niku... needs more reps... liked the first 2 periods from him...

Lowry is a fourth line center... and one of the best... if the Jets could only get him there...

Fro'Bert... was mostly good... luv'n the Fro'...

Copp and Carrot'Top need a centerman to match their foot speed and guile... waste of their talents presently...

Laine would be worth a 10 mil' long term contract if he played like this most every game...

Oh... and Cilantro... :thumbu:

Life's too short... Buddy says...
