Still can't believe we traded Trevor Daley for Rob Scuderi. I think Stan Bowman from post cup 2015 was way more awful than we remember. I barely remember a good trade.

You mean the Trevor Daley that Q refused to play?

Bowman should have never traded for Daley in the first place.

The summer after our last cup win was the beginning of the end. So many terrible trades and decisions.

Daley was a nice combo Stan and Q failure, he also preferred to play RD. Q could of paired him with Keith as a better option than Rundblad in those easy minutes with Keith but no.

And Stan got him of all bodies as the supposed Oduya roster replacement which made no sense

I dont remember Keith playing easy mins, really. Daley didnt deserve top pairing mins, and never fit in. Dallas was happy to trade him, and I recall a lot of their fans calling his move addition by subtraction.

I was thinking of the prior year I forgot Runblad played so little even in 15-16

But Daley was out of position, I recall reading a Jim Rutherford interview talking about what he saw in trading for Daley when he was fitting there. He preferred RD and carrying the puck out of the dzone which Q didn't let guys do, that same issue happened for Kempny. But Daley would of deserved more time at least if he was playing RD. I recall him being complained at for missing the net worse than Keith, which looked bad for a guy with double digit goals the prior year but he wasn't shooting from the same spots or role.

Sure, it wasn't a fit with Q, but getting Rob f***ing Scuderi for a guy that ended up playing huge minutes in a cup run is embarrassing.

Prompted me to go look at every trade he ever did. There were a couple decent ones in the beginning, Nick Leddy, Frolik, Brouwer getting a 1st.

Stan Bowman Trade History - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

After 2015 is just an absolute train wreck.

The fact that Daley was such a flop with Chicago was for me one of the most baffling in the Stan/Q years.
When Daley was first acquired my initial thought was that he would be the perfect Dman for a team that wasn't aggressive, even in the back end but preferred PMD who had good wheels. Daley had the experience and he had proven he was pretty good at it but that notion was pretty quickly squelched by Q.

Q played Daley in his proper role

He was the 5th best dman on club (6th potentially depending on your view of Rozy at that stage) who was slotted in as a bottom pairing dman he was

He also played like ass with Hawks

It was terrible trade moment it occurred and that had nothing to do with Q

That's pure BS.
Q never did anything wrong in your world.

As been pointed out above, because Quenneville played him on the "wrong" side.

Now do Kempny.

Getting a late first for Hartmann was decent at the time.

Joker getting some big minutes lately vs high quality competition

21:39 vs Rangers
26:08 vs Caps
24:54 vs Jets

Had assist and was a +2 in those games

Now in 12 games has goal + 3 assists averaging almost 20 minutes a night

What an awful trade we could really use a defender like Joker

As we've found out from other threads, the Hawks have a prejudice against Finns that they draft ;-)
