Ugh could you imagine if we had drafted Turcotte though...most of us were enamoured with him and goes to show how hard GMing can be

Ugh imagine shitting on a 20 year old who hasn't been called up to the NHL yet because his organization actually knows how to take their time developing prospects

What’s the issue with Turcotte? Can’t say I’ve followed him, but Kings fans are quite high on him.

Joker came back last week from injury that had sidelined him after first game of season

Since coming back he has picked up an assist and his TOI has been gradually increased each game

15:48 vs Jackets
18:37 vs Bruins
21:15 vs Habs
22:36 vs Wings

Looking at rest of the former Hawks on Sabres and they have generally been productive

Anderson is 4-2 with 2.50 GAA and .921 sv pct but is on IR with UBI
Hinostroza has 2 goals + 7 assists in 21 games
Caggiula has 2 goals + 3 assists in 18 games but just went on IR with UBI

tough to say, just another one of the long list of players that have success after Stan shipped them out...

Hardly. He got let go by two other teams until finally having a bit of a repeat of his productive first season in Chicago, in now his third season in Minn.

Yet in the Kings "developmental organization", guys like Kupari, Byfield and Kaliyev have all gotten their cup of tea in the NHL. Turcotte certainly isn't lighting up the AHL by any means right now and for somebody who was projected to be a potential top 3 pick I doubt I'm the only one not overly impressed by what he's done so far. Would anyone trade Dach or even Byram for Turcotte right now???

Also I don't post here much, but aren't you the guy who's convinced Strome's a high end NHL talent LMAO

Turcotte has been injured, and lost a chunk of development time.

Since being drafted, he's played 46 AHL games (interrupted by injuries).

Kaliyev, who came from the same draft, played 40 AHL games (uninterrupted by injuries) and is now in the NHL.

There's nothing wrong with Turcotte's progress right now. The Kings want him to play a full proper season in the AHL first, before bringing him to the next level.

Chicago should take note.

That's great but you can't compare apples to oranges. It is quite apparent to me and others that Strome: 1/ cannot improve his skating
2/ will always play soft and
3/ doesn't have the drive or fortitude to succeed at the NHL level.

Who the f*** is talking about Strome? lmao

I assumed by your last sentence ("Chicago should take note") you were implying that you disagreed with how Hawks were treating its young players including Strome. Was I wrong?
I'm talking about Turcotte.

And that sentence was in regard to how the Kings handle the development of their prospects.

The Hawks rush them, the Kings lets them marinate before throwing them into the fire.

Kings are in a rebuild and no need to rush prospects while piling up high level picks. It is not rocket science unless you are Stan f***ing Bowman.

I agree with Musto. Let them steep a little like the Canes do in the minors. This rushing them has probably cost us a prospect or two development wise.

Who are these great players that the Kings have developed with their sage and wise system?
Nobody. out of the top 12 scorers on the team only 2 can be considered younger home grown players. Kempe 25 years old (12 points) and Kaliyev 20 years old (6 points)

They entered rebuild in like 2019. Obviously have to give it time.

Their system looks good. Turcotte, Kaliyev, Fagemo, Clarke, the great Kirill Kirsanov, etc. They're all progressing well.

Kaliyev-40 games developing in AHL

Fagemo-44 AHL games

Turcotte-only Top 10 pick not in NHL

They are not any better developing players than Hawks, it's just that the grass looks greener along the Pacific Ocean

Stan f****d this team, we had Bowen ready for us and we didn’t pull the trigger because he wanted someone to jump right in, even Dach shoulda spend a year or two in the minors, his development stopped because he was pushed too fast… Bowman strikes again, the damage he caused will be felt for the next 5+ years.

Dach couldn't be sent to the AHL. It is against the transfer agreement between the CHL and NHL. It was either go back to the WHL or play in the NHL.

This does not mean they got his development right but it is an important detail.

Players from Europe and college can be sent to the AHL.

Nylander could play in the AHL because he was "loaned" to his OHL team.
