I'm very happy for Duclair. The talent was always apparent.
He is what some folks like to think is in Nylander.

21-22 : ADuclair (Florida Panthers, NHL)
8 goals in 13 games, +3 (1.00 ppg)
- 2nd line minutes

21-22 : ANylander (Rockford IceHogs, AHL)
4 goals in 10 games, -10 (0.50 ppg)
- 1st line minutes

I agree with you

And i think Nylander ship has sailed already
and lost its port.

Duclair had 1 goal in 16 ahl games when he was sent down at 22. He still recovered from that

As far as raw positive on-ice impact, Kampf is better than anybody on our 4th line.

Not surprising, he was always an excellent defensive player. Nobody on our 4th line is excellent at anything. Just kinda…there

Jaeger said the same thing about Kruger, even going as far as saying we'll never replace what he did flipping the ice in dungeon starts in the d-zone. When we found and developed another guy in Kampf he's now saying the same thing about him. And when we develop yet another guy, he'll likely say the same thing about him and so on and so forth.

Kamf is no Kruger, memories are very short you are forgetting Kruger beast mode shutting down top lines in the playoffs all those years. Kruger was never replaced and Kamf hasn’t been replaced…

I never said Kampf is/was as good as Kruger.

I said Kampf has been one of our best defensive players for the last several years. He's a useful player. We shouldn't have let him go just to fill our 4th line with useless plugs.

He is no Marcus Kruger.

I often thought Kampf would be so much more appreciated if the team was actually good. So Toronto it can actually be a good fit.

But in the Bubble it was noticeable how impactful Kampf was, slowing down McDavid, not able to outright stop him. And his line was dominate to start thr next year when everyone else was bad. But especially since it was a bad team I think the low scoring didn't reflect to people or the defenders still playing poor didn't showcase the results of the good defensive and pick control play he had.

Yep, Kampf can't score if his life depended on it but he is a solid defensive player with good size and uses it to his advantage - as a bonus is excellent at the dot. Hawks did themselves no favours by letting him go and Leafs are laughing,

It didn't help that Colliton insisted on trying to play him up the lineup. He's useless in any other spot than 4th line center.
