The game that changed everything and other reasons the Panthers are 4 wins away

Blackhawks beat Penguins enabling Florida to make the playoffs.
That drops Blackhawks from 1st to 3rd in lottery odds.
Florida beats #1 Boston.

Blackhawks own Tampa's next two 1st round picks from the Hagel trade.
Toronto beats Tampa in Round #1 so that pick is #20.

Florida leads Toronto 3-0 in the 2nd round. If Florida wins, their own 1st round pick ends up being #29-32 moving Tampa's pick up to #19.
Blackhawks win Bedard lottery from 3rd place.

Go Panthers Go!

Hockey Gods............are always watching.
Leaf fans who wanted Florida, are all being very quiet right now.
There’s even one guy who transitioned into a Panthers fan. I’ve never seen anything quite like it tbh.

He went from We Want Florida to I Am Florida, hear me RAwR xD! real quick.

Go check your standings again. Pittsburgh finished the season with 91 points. Florida finished with 92. Any combination of 2 points would have put the Pens at 93 points, there would be no tie to begin with.
The 91 includes an OT loss at CLB in the final game.

I swear with the We Want Florida chants, and the celebrations after the round one win,

If the Leafs lose, they and their fan base may have simply traded one meme for another
Look at the kids in that crowd chanting "we want Florida". They look on average around 19-20 years old. They still have functioning souls. They deserve this, as to survive as a Leafs fan in the long run you must be dead inside.

Crazy turns of event for Chicago

Damn that's a bit dark

I still have to thank the hawks, but this NEVER HAPPENS if the islanders don't lay a god damn egg against the Capitals the night before. That game genuinely could've meant that the Penguins and Panthers make it in, Panthers play the Canes, and the Penguins face the Bruins. We probably have a Bruins/Canes ECF right now if that happened.

This legit makes me so upset the Sens couldn't win a single game in Western Canada nor against Chicago. If sens won against Calgary Nucks and Chicago they'd be in playoffs, Flames would pick 15th, and the Hawks would have finished last, and if assuming the 3rd last team still wins lottery, Bedard would go to CBJ. Also the way both Bruins and Leafs played, I legit feel Sens would have advanced to CF and this is without Norris Chabot or Chychrun.

Piece of shit site never crashes out as you start typing your comment, but always when you’re two words away from hitting the “post” button.
forgetabouddit

lol I post this comment, and the time stamp is telling me it was posted “in 4 minutes”. WTF, I’m so awesome, I am posting from the future!!

In this thread: fans of teams that couldn't even hit 93 points to make the playoffs reinventing computational astrophysics to dream up scenarios in which their team makes the Eastern Conference Finals.

March 27, 2023

Bob and the Panthers lost their third game in a row. Florida dropped out of the playoff race and trailed Pittsburgh by 3 points for the last playoff spot with only 8 games to play with Pittsburgh having a game on hand.

The 5-2 drubbing against Ottawa was the last straw for Bob. He wouldn’t see the crease for the rest of the regular season. He finished with 50 games played and a miserable 3.07 GAA and .901 save percentage. He did his best to tank any chance of Florida making the playoffs.

The Rise and Fall of the Lyon

Maurice, desperate to turn his team’s fortunes around after Bob was broken, turned to Alex Lyons, a 30 year old back-up with 31 career NHL starts.

March 29, 2023… Panthers versus Leafs. Panthers fall behind. Paul Maurice steps up…

Panthers rally behind their coach and beat Toronto 3-2 in overtime to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Panthers go on to rattle off six wins in a row with this decrepit back-up and Maurice wills his team into the playoffs without a legitimate goaltender only to face the historic Boston Bruins with an unprecedented 65 wins.

Lyon stumbles to a 1-2 record against the Bruins, with a 3.26 GAA. He’s done.

Maurice Salvages Bob

Bob starts game 4. He gets clowned for five goals and an .833 save percentage. Panthers drop down 3 games to 1 against the top seed and record shattering Bruins.

Maurice had a tough decision. He could show confidence in Bob, a goalie that has played in nine different playoff years and failed dramatically (only a single playoff year where his GAA was less than 2.70; 7 of his nine playoff years he posted a GAA of 3.07 or worse - a playoff choker and clown) or go with the journeyman.

Maurice went with Bob. Miraculously, the Panthers rallied behind Maurice‘s decision and leadership and played inspired hockey. Bob posts a miserable .891 save percentage against the Bruins but prevail.

Bob, with renewed confidence never shown before in the playoffs but having a coach that had his back, goes on to destroy the Leafs and Canes.

Bob deserves credit for his play in the past two series. He’s been incredible. That said, the Panthers aren’t here without Maurice’s adept moves with his goaltenders and willing his team to win and start that rally back on March 29 against the Leafs. If the Panthers didn’t rally in that game, we’re not even here talking about Bob.

Special thanks to the Pittsburgh Penguins for absolutely sucking and losing to 2 of the worst teams in games 81 and 82, making it possible for Florida to even qualify for the playoffs
Penguins need to trade Rust

Yeah, this is the thread. Pittsburgh fumbles its 17 year streak against bottom feeders Chicago and Columbus saving serial boob Maurice from leading his Stanley Cup team to the golf course.
