The game that changed everything and other reasons the Panthers are 4 wins away

I did, I said that small group was doing it as a parody after the entire crowd was chanting (and it wasn't exclusive to those chants, fans all over social media were saying the same) that they wanted Florida. They were jokingly saying they want Boston after.
No, you didn't. You're dismissing it. You're speaking out of your ass pretending to know it all off of tiny snippets of clips online. You have no idea what you're talking about and continue to reach for nothing.

In the end, there was also a "We want Boston" chant.

This game wasn't only big for the playoffs, especially with Florida upsetting this historical Bruins team and well on their way to eliminating the Leafs, this win also left the Blackhawks with the 3rd worst record rather than the worst. If Florida wins the cup, this game not only allowed that to happen but it also played a major role in determining where Bedard ends up. If he hits his potential and the Panthers win the cup, then this may have been one of the most consequential regular season games ever.
Buddy Robinson is an international menace and he must be stopped before he gets away with anything else.

I already described what happened, you are absolutely detached from reality. Not your fault though, the media tells you your team is the Stanley Cup favorite every single year and runs articles like "40-something year old Joe Thornton might just be the move that puts the Leafs over the top. Here's why."
> "I described what happened. You're detached from reality."

> "Now here's an article I completely made up but am gonna pretend is real because I describe things that happen, for I am The Describer"

Why not link the whole article? Why you just showing the headline? Maybe because the article is saying much more than just the headline?

Here:

The article talks about the signing of Joe Thornton by the Leafs, and what the veteran player brings to the team. The author discusses how Thornton's experience and leadership qualities could help the Maple Leafs overcome some of their recent struggles, and how his addition to the team signals a change in the team's approach to building a winning culture. The article also touches on Thornton's impressive career and his reputation as a highly respected player in the league. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Any team who had Joe Thornton would talk about him like how this generic article does.

Regardless, this still doesn't relate to the narrative you're trying to paint.

In the end, in the same crowd, there was a "We want Boston" chant.

You're trying to paint a narrative that isn't entirely true.

There’s no reason to chant “we want x” when you’ve already advanced and are waiting your opponent

The only time to chant that is if you haven’t advanced yet, and your opponent is known

Sure there is. The #1 reason is because it's fun. It's just a large crowd having fun after a win. They were chanting for both teams because there wasn't a clear opponent yet. That's it.

"we want Florida" is also relevant because Boston is a rival, so there's some schadenfreude involved (albeit one that is begging for negative karma)

There’s other things to chant that don’t invite bad juju

I mean, superstitions are not real. You know that, right?

And again, there were chants for both teams so whatever you believe, that evens out.

So happy it happened that way, Boston would've demolished the Pens in 5, maybe 4.

Panthers have been one of the best teams in the league the last month and half. Not to mention, they won the president's trophy last year. They underachieved most of the year (can't blame them too much, Major changes in roster) but finally hit their stride towards the end of the year. If anything Boston got a shit end of the deal of drawing Florida after having the best season ever.
Yea it worked out well. Hextall got fired and Florida is actually playing well. It would have been a waste of a playoff spot if the penguins were in.

I've been saying this same thing for the past week on here. Had the Penguins beat either bottom feeder in their last 2 games, or even lost both in OT, we would have Bruins-Leafs right now. Amazing how 1 game can impact so many other teams.

For the record, the Bruins swept the Penguins in the regular season series. They were tied with the Panthers in the regular season . Given that the playoffs stayed true to being an even matchup going down to 1 goal deciding it, it isn't a stretch to say the Bruins would have coasted by the Pens in 4-5 games

If Boston didn't beat Penguins on 1st of April, Panthers would miss the playoffs.
Hindsight is always 20/20...should have iced the Providence Bruins for that game..they might have still won though 😂🤣

Pittsburgh needed 3 points out of the last two games because FLA held the tiebreaker over them.

Cope. These guys were satirically parodying the broader crowd who was doing We Want Florida chants the whole time.
oh were you there? pretty sure the we want florida chants were parodying the broader we want boston chants.

Sports can be a matter of inches sometimes, but Hockey has to be close to the top, of just a little this or that changing outcomes. Can be frustrating as a fan sometimes but this also makes Hockey so darn great. Especially during playoffs....

I swear with the We Want Florida chants, and the celebrations after the round one win,

If the Leafs lose, they and their fan base may have simply traded one meme for another
at this point you can just post a picture of the Leafs logo and thats the punchline.

Go check your standings again. Pittsburgh finished the season with 91 points. Florida finished with 92. Any combination of 2 points would have put the Pens at 93 points, there would be no tie to begin with.

It's pretty wild the Panthers made it to the playoffs on the back of an AHL goalie. He played the Sabres incredibly well late in the season.

That being said, the Panthers are an incredibly skilled team. It would've been a huge waste of a season if they didn't make it in the playoffs. Lord knows they have the talent to do damage as we're witnessing now.

As a Sabres fan, this makes me happy. I <3 Reinhart, and am a fan of Montour, too. I also like Tkachuk, Bennett, Barkov, etc...
