Garrett Wilson was the correct pick at #10. Kid is very good.
I came by to post the same thing.

I’ll go even further and say within 2 years he’ll be one of the best receivers in the league.

My enthusiasm for Zach Wilson is nowhere near that but he looked solid in the second half this past week. If he’s also a player then as a Jets’ fan maybe, just maybe, our long national nightmare is over.

Love the explosiveness.

Jets have big problems at tackle, though.

Well Icky Ekwonu hasn't been stellar down in Carolina either. 3/4 of the NYJ first 4 picks look solid, Jermaine Johnson is still TBD.

There is nothing you can do about injuries besides signing depth, which is what Douglas did with Becton, Fant and Brown at LT.

Then you lose Max Mitchell too? What is lost is how good Vera-Tucker was at LT after moving from Guard mid-game.

Well, I’m sold on Breece Hall and we know Garrett Wilson is a stud despite a quiet game today. Zach did enough but I still need to see more to say he’s the answer.

As for the game, it’s a win and there were plenty of positives. The thing that worried me was that Miami’s O line manhandled the Jets D in the running game. I hope that’s more a reflection of Miami’s talent than anything else.

Huge win today. Taking out Teddy Bridgewater early set the tone here.
I thought the Dolphins D would be the better than that. If the Jets can run the ball it presents problems for the opponents.
Nice job by Z. Wilson limiting mistakes.

tough game coming up next week.

Not sure what to say about AVT. The guy is barely a year out of college and has played 3 different positions on the Oline this year and don't think he let up a pressure yesterday. The guy is an absolute stud.

If Duane Brown can hold up until Fant gets back and healthy - and hopefully Mitchell after that, we could have unwittingly found ourselves some legit Olinemen going forward.

And the team is high on Nate Herbig at Guard too? He looked pretty decent yesterday. Its still being held together with scotch tape and glue but considering how much worse it could have been, I'll tip my hat to this group right now.

If they can get over the injury issues, get the line they want out there and have some continuity, I'm almost getting excited.

Going to be a dream sports week for me.

1) Mon-Wed - Was in Pinehurst NC area (played Midpines and Pineneedles where they had the women's open did not actually play Pinehurst this time) . just got back two hours ago.
2) Thurs - going to Isles opener
3) Friday- Sunday morn - NotreDame /Stanford weekend in Southbend with game on Saturday night,
4) Sunday - get up somehow at 5AM, drive 300miles from Southbend to Lambeau for Jets/Packers (never been)
5) the highlight drive to Sheboygan after Jets game to sleep it all off, before getting up for Monday flight back out of Chicago.

Now that I am an empty nester trying to get it all done at once lol.

WOW!

I'm envious. My week consists of watching not the Mets in the playoffs, not giving a crap about football (how 'bout those Carolina Panthers!), and DVRing the Isles opener so I
can watch it after it's over once we get home from karate

Best part of it all will be getting to play in 1st goal of game competition. I had a blast doing it last season!

Have fun and be safe brother!

Gotta have an Old Style on tap and Italian Beef sandwich in Chitown. It's the native meal!

I hope you got a round in this morning otherwise your Wednesday is woefully inadequate.

Congrats dude - that's a week to be proud of.

My nephew used to block for Drew Pyne in High School. Cool to see him starting.

Thats an awesome trip, ND is a great place to see a game. My dream sports trip is a big ND game followed by an Isles game in Chicago the same week.

I have not played Tobacco Road, but a few of the guys went over to play it yesterday.. We go to MIdpines/PIneneedles every year for a client event with between 15-20 foursomes , it is. a fun 2 day event with a bunch of other small competitions mixed in after the 18. I could not stay for extra rounds this year but normally have in the past. (I love Pineneedles but the 1st hole seems to kill me every year out of the gate. Once again this year, out of the sand had no chance to hold the green which runs away quickly, so double bogied it).

FYI, the grounds are nice but Midpines rooms are horrible. have not been renovated in half a century maybe longer, so if you can stay at Pineneedles across the street that is a much better option. Last year we were sitting at breakfast and there was water streaming from the ceiling from one of the rooms above.

That's what I've heard about the rooms at Mid Pines. Stayed in the Carolina at Pinehurst a couple of years ago that was real nice. Don't use the bathroom at Midpines in the locker room to go number 2 the door is right in your face. It's tiny, yes I speak from experience. Wasn't good for my claustrophobia, lol.

Impressive by the "baby Jets"

Love to see all the young guys showing out - Hall, Q, Michael Carter, Sauce, Michael Clemons, AVT

Of course, the outsiders can claim that ZW had a "bad game" but yesterday was a game manager only type game. He moved the chains when he needed to and did not make mistakes.

I'm just waiting for the game where the run game stalls and he needs to take over, then we'll see if he has what it takes (I also put some blame on LaFleur, why are you running a bootleg to his left side on a critical 3rd down? I'm not surprised he could not complete that pass to Garrett Wilson)

I don't think Wilson was good - because being good means making throws where only your guy can catch it even if they're covered. His accuracy isn't there yet. (Green Bay's corners were very good though.) For example, that throw to G. Wilson was at chest level, and behind him. It should have been low along the sideline. (Though G Wilson should have caught the slant.)

NYJ's secondary is probably the single biggest area of improvement for the team. The D-line was definitely good, but the secondary helped make them look good. Gardner looks like Fred Astaire out there - his feet make movements as if they aren't supporting any weight.

How bout dem Jets!

Great game. My first time at Lambeau. I was shocked at how many Jet fans were there. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to choose a roadtrip destination. Titletown just outside the stadium has sports bars, food and a cool outdoor mall area to hang out in. The whole place was an amazing atmosphere.

If I am not careful, I am going to start believing the Jets are actually good this year, but I have been a Jet fan too long so not jumping to that conclusion yet despite all the good press. I had hoped for next year, but all of our rookies seem to have stepped right in. LGJ/LGI!
