yesterday's games were insane. I feel for Buffalo right now. KC got screwed over a few years back in OT and Buffalo last night. They need to redo the OT rules, they make no sense at all. Both teams deserve a shot.

Bills should be pissed they didn't stop Tyreek and Kelce with 13 seconds left. What a god damn shame. Wasted playoff performance by Gabriel Davis.

Btw if you wanna feel some pain, look at this.

Todd Bowles taking over for Arians. Brady should’ve retired on a relatively high note.

As a Jets’ fan, I look forward to Brady getting frustrated and crushed by Bowles inept offensive game plan.

Sounds like an orchestration geared to end in a Brady trade to, well, the destination of his choice.

This thread sure showed up wayyyyy too early
At least there’s no talk about an Isles draft party. Well, I guess there is now.

I’m hoping Anna Kendrick shows up to motivate Beau. We need more than Ralph Macchio and Kevin Connolly.

With the NFL starting up again, figured this was worth a bump back to the front page for further discussion.

Well Becton lasted longer than I thought he would. This is the reason I would have grabbed one of the two OL with our first pick.
I think the Jets signaled they were worried about pass protection when they signed two starting level all-down tight-ends, and drafted an all-downs running back. Probably the best way to shore up pass protection is limit opposing defensive substitutions based on personnel groups, and (the other side of the coin) increase the versatility of the base offensive personnel group. I hope it works, but at least one can understand what they're doing.

Every start of a season is a an opportunity to be different and better than the previous season. Unfortunately it is hard for me to imagine this Jets team with their schedule (see weeks 3-10) winning more than 6 games this season. You build from the line out and with all their opportunity to improve and cap space, again I see problems on the offensive line.

The way I see it that first game is critical to avoid a 2-8 or 3-7 start which are the most likely scenarios IMO.

Jets fans are just not allowed to have nice things. At least I have the Islanders to fall back on. :sarcasm:
As Ravens fan, I'll tell you that Flacco can throw. If he has decent WRs. He was king of the checkdown his last couple years in BAL, but there wasn't much of receiving corps to throw to. He can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit, but he was def an above average QB for us and had a big arm when there was someone fast to throw to.

Maybe you can get Jimmy G from the Niners.

I have seen the Jets version of Flacco and he is not our future.

Jimmy G is an option. (or we can take a another QB in the top 5, why not, eventually one will have to hit, maybe.. )

But I get ahead of myself, still awaiting word on Wilson , so we will see.

I feel your pain. The Ravens had our dark years at QB for a long time until Flacco seized the reins as a decent and occasionally great QB.

I've always been amazed at how hard the QB position is. If you think about how many kids play football, and how many play college, and how many get drafted/signed to the pros... it's amazing that there are only really 10, maybe 15 guys in the world that can really play the position consistently well professionally.

I saw a report 2-4 weeks. I'll take that
Down here, Panthers have Darnold and Baker Mayfield to choose from. Might be a long season for both of us.

Gladly NFL is #4 on my list of the 4 major sports. Being a huge St. John's hoops fan moves FB down another notch

I’ll go OT on this OT thread and comment on hockey. When I heard about Wilson’s injury somehow the Isles crossed my mind.

I think the Isles struggle this year to make the playoffs. If they were to have a prolonged injury to a key player (Barzal, Pelech, Sorokin) then they’re on the outside looking in. That may seem like I’m stating the obvious but our margin for error is razor thin compared to some other contenders.

Well, survived that one although not ideal. Wilson gets to watch instead of practice and prepare for his biggest season of his life all because he felt he had to earn extra yards instead of take what he got and play another down. Love the effort and determination and it’s all part of the maturity process. He is lucky for now.
The o-line issue is glaring though, so Wilson will be thrown to the wolves vs AFC central defenses without much more development preparation. Hope he will be ready and excels. I have my doubts but at least he will be playing.
