The people that were loving him were the sort that loves every single move the GM makes. How every prospect was a steal and they're trending so well. How we're always just one move (pick a scapegoat) away from being the best.

If I was the Oilers, I would be very worried that the Leafs have won 2 straight while Marner and Matthews are coming in on a slump.

What makes McDavid and Draisaitl so elite is that such a high percentage of their chances end up in the back of the net. It's hard to qualify as a skill, but they finish at a high level (hence their point totals). Matthews and Marner are great, but they're a step below those guys in the playmaking / surefire finishing department.

We saw similar skill with Jets scorers burying their chances while we could not against helly.

The effort seems fine. They’re playing a pretty tight game but don’t have the counter punch offensively when they have a chance and the defense and goaltending hasn’t been A+. Right now it seems like we have zero game breakers.
