I think there's a difference between having Igor steal a game here and there, than having to do it every damn game he plays. Because if he doesn't play lights out every.. single.. game.. we get run over. He's the only reason we won, but I fear we will burn him out of he keep having to let games rest on his shoulders all the time.

Have you watched much this season. Many games we've won have been with average goaltending.

We've lost standings points due to BOTH Igors and Halaks duds of games they've dropped.

Igor was great in Tampa Game 1, Colorado W, and now tonights W, he also should have had the 1st goal, even if it was deflected its gotta be a stop there.

We haven't even seen the true best of Igor yet for an extended stretch.

We control more play than we don't. We are top 10 in both ExGF and ExGA. We lead the league in posts hit.

I really don't think today was that bad. Igor made some great saves, and PS turned the momentum. That's why you have a goalie, and an elite one thats paid over $5 for his services. He's there when we need him, and sometimes more often than we should need him. But man, I swear some people love to just b*tch and can't enjoy a 4 game win streak with wins over the defending Champs, Vegas and Devils

They started like absolute shit, but found a way to adjust and come back to beat one of the best teams in the league this year.

They needed a game like that where they fought back to get a win. Hopefully that’ll be a big confidence boost and gets this team back on a run to negate how bad November was in the standings.

The level of hockey where we controlled large portions of the game despite starting periods slowly and just beat the top team in the division?

Or the level of hockey where we had plenty of high danger chances that could have gone in on PP and some at even strength?

What level of hockey exactly are you looking for? No game is perfect, but lots of positives there.

I'll take a 7 game series with Igor at top of his game any day of the week. Thats the X factor. Need him there by the time playoffs come around. I like the Kids, I like our special teams ability to create (they gotta go in eventually, saving them to break open playoff games where special teams matter most).

And this was after Hughes embarrassed the youth on this team and then had a penalty shot to bury the game down 3-1

This is true. Toronto will complete the gauntlet, and I don't think anyone expected us to get 6 of 6 points so far from this slate.

BUT doing that got the kids benched, which somehow led to them realizing they had to score cause every second they are on the ice may be their last. So Trouba captained us to victory.

The Devils just got more sluggish as the game went on...

They're starting their descent back to earth. They're a solid team and the overall improvement from last season is enviable and even unimaginable in some ways, but that D-core and goaltending will eventually get exposed. The good thing for them is they pretty much already booked a ticket to the playoffs and like us last season will be playing with house money

Yep. Wanting the team to not make bad decisions means we aren’t enjoying the win? Dafuq? The kids scored the tying and winning goals. The people “complaining” were right. Like usual.
