Legit urban legend (no idea if actually true)… moes tavern is based off a dive bar in Laramie, Wyoming.^ Funny story....That bit was written about an episode I had.
not really...but it could've. and it would've involved way too much beer.
I thought it was based on the Tube Bar in Jersey. Moe Syzlak and Bart's prank calls to him are based on the Tube Bar Tapes, which were recordings of series of prank calls made to the bartender in the 70s, done in the same format. They're on YouTube if you want to look them up, they're hilarious.Legit urban legend (no idea if actually true)… moes tavern is based off a dive bar in Laramie, Wyoming.
I’m sure there are more than a few of these urban legends… I know another one about a bar in playa del Rey. The Laramie one is based on one of the early writers living in Laramie (some say went to college there), Moe’s being a spitting image of Bud’s interior, and the Laramie references. Urban legend, so who really knows?I thought it was based on the Tube Bar in Jersey. 1) but why?I listened to deep cuts from the discography of the band Orgy today. It's safe to say some of my more recent inclinations in music have not been positive developments.

Clearly not.
I wish the US could elect someone who isn't ancient and still knows how to have a good time. The Finnish Prime Minister right now:
Well, what about R. Budd Dw... Err, Marion Barry?I wish the US could elect someone who isn't ancient and still knows how to have a good time.
Scottish Messi, Ryan Gauld just scored 2 goals in a game which made @BrickNHL ecstatic and you're this annoyed? It's time for a board-wide intervention.
After the success of my complaints a few months ago about the term "run it back" being used far too much, some other turns of phrase are really spoiling my forum experience.
Any reference to a player - Kadri or otherwise but almost always Kadri - seeking and/or receiving a large contract as "getting his bag." "Get paid" and "get that bread" are bad enough, the substitution of bag here is just awful. Leaving aside the optics of cheering someone who's been paid millions in salary every year of their working life being paid even more millions for more years of their working life and people celebrating this, the phrase itself just sounds... cheap. Low-rent. Associated somehow with criminality.
We can all be better than this. Hopefully now he's officially gone I don't need to see it as much.
Always knew you were a Chelsea fanBilly Gilmour now exists, don't need to care about bottom end MLS-jobbers
As long as you avoid Coal Chamber, you'll avoid completely going off the deep end.

I f***ing love Ryan Gauld, he should be captain over Russell Teibert aka the rich man’s Marc Andre ClicheScottish Messi, Ryan Gauld just scored 2 goals in a game which made @BrickNHL ecstatic and you're this annoyed?
Jobbers? They play professionally and make a few hundred grand a year. They’re getting the bagBilly Gilmour now exists, don't need to care about bottom end MLS-jobbers
Not only that, I later wasted my time afterward doing a deep dive on the Internet to see what happened to a lot of restaurant chains that were around in the past that I don’t see much anymore. To my utter shock, Bennigans is still around…and they’re mounting a comeback.I can't tell you how happy it's made me that this is your take away from his story.

Did it start already? I saw there was a teaser on Youtube, but honestly I couldn't care less about it at this point. That ending ruined the whole franchise for me.Nearly 10 million people watched HoD, including myself. I swore off GoT after the travesty of the final season but, god damn, it was good to have Game of Thrones back.
I'm just going to keep myself from reading reddit or any online stuff related to it and just enjoy it for what it is. Great high fantasy with the best effect money can buy.
Not going to lie. I ate at Bennigans a bunch in '90-91. There was one located right off the base in Orlando where Nuke Power School was. That was like a Friday ritual...Hit Bennigans, cab down to Church Street Station and enjoy the hell out of the evening hitting all the bars, clubs and pool halls then cab back to base around 2am. We were putting in 120-140 hours a week easy between the classroom instructing and study hall so Friday night was a big todo. *LOL* God I'm old.Not only that, I later wasted my time afterward doing a deep dive on the Internet to see what happened to a lot of restaurant chains that were around in the past that I don’t see much anymore. Anyway, I’m definitely in Peak Offseason Mode. Carry on.
