When did you go? The last ~4-5 years there has been huge awakening. Also depends on the areas you're around too... Corktown, Greektown, and Midtown are all sweet. But stay away from Franklin Park, Warrendale, Belmont, Greensbriar.... so many others.
Oh it's been about 10 years since I've been

I liked Endgame, but I agree with @The Moops that scene with the female heros was really cringey and out of place. Carol Danvers had nothing to do with the previous story arc and should have been left out. Having her there was some real lame deus ex machina shit.

I mean, I can't argue with that. I just feel like it was easily overlooked to the point that it wasn't a real gripe or a reason to hate the entire movie.

I didn't hate the movie, and in fact I would say I enjoyed the MCU until the end of End Game, but now the stakes are so low and they are just money grabbing so it just puts a bad taste in my mouth about the whole franchise. Has turned me off of all "capeshit" entertainment.

However I am excited for the Spiderverse sequel. The first one is probably the best superhero movie yet.

Oddly, I didn't like the Multi-verse as much as others did. I think it was the classic case of being overhyped by everyone raving about how good it was that it somewhat ruined it for me :idk:

Needed in all of the US... left lane campers are a plague.

It's honestly mind boggling. Either they flat out don't understand the "rules" of the road or they're completely oblivious to the logjam of cars behind them. Or...they're just dicks.

Same thing drives me nuts on Independence Pass. Sure, it's a one lane highway, and for many, it can be scary, but there are so many opportunities to pull over and let people pass that don't want to drive like pansies . Also because it's difficult to pass them if the cars in between you aren't making a move.

Blows my mind how people can see a line of cars behind them and not think, "huh, maybe I'm holding these guys up and should do something about it".

I think is is a combo of oblivious and dickishness/selfishness. Some just can't grasp the idea of it... some just don't give a shit. It is so frustrating in the US. Driving in in Germany is such a dream in comparison.

Shows you what some diligent voluntary work and sound ideology can do.

See, now those are qualities that I personally think the American population needs right now.

Say if there was a program of some kind, that aimed to increase the number of those traits in the general population, let's say based on some characteristics. And on the other hand reduce the number of, let's say, the more unfit qualities, as it were.

Let's say we put those we figure are less suitable somewhere, just for the time being of course, and eventually figure out a sort of definitive resolution to that question.

This is mostly every state. Wisconsin is especially bad about this. The only state that seems to crack down on the passing lane issue is NY (more specifically upstate NY). NY has HP stationed every 5 or so miles looking out for infractions. Weirdly, it makes things work better by removing all of the left-lane campers.

Incidentally, in Germany, if you're in the left lane and someone flashes you (with their headlights) it's a courtesy to move over. I've tried this in the US and people are typically obstinant.

Basically, to bottomline it, Americans are jerks. Dont rely on them for anything. They rely on you for stuff but it's not reciprocal. This "it takes a village" idea is hot garbage here.

In other news… golf game is really coming together. Back in the single digit handicap (hovering around 8) and getting pretty consistent. Even my ‘bad’ days im only slipping to the 83-85 area and it usually a simple set of bad shots or a mental lapse that usually causes those rounds. My round of the season was last week where I pulled off a 75 (+5). Most things just clicked except when I hit one shot in the water. Earlier today, I took in 9 holes and flirted with an under par round (easy par 36 course). I doubled the 9th to push me to 37.

Probably most encouraging for me, I’m finally getting some distance (in general) but really on some drives now too. I’ve never been a big hitter and my focus this season has been getting <200 dialed (still weaker in the 35-75 range). Even not trying to gain a ton of distance… I’m touching 290ish about once or twice a round and getting to 270 consistently (altitude so getting some help). This is a solid 30 more than earlier this season. I figure when I focus more on that next year I can gain a bit more (and I’d still like to get my 9 iron to 150-155… stuck around 142-144). I haven’t seen the scoring results come in from the extra distance quite yet, but starting to find myself in ‘easier’ situations to try for birdies instead of just targeting pars. Not executing at the moment, but it feels close.

Overall if I even settle in right here, I’m pretty happy. I guess you really can improve if you hit your job and basically play golf 5-6 days a week. Who knew?

I shot my best round at league last night. 34 (-2) with a bogey on 9.

Putting is the hardest part of the game for me but I was draining them yesterday.

That's a nice round!

Putting is probably my biggest strength. I'm 2 putts or less 95% of the time where I have a decent shot at sinking anything under 10'. Getting there in regulation is the harder part for me.

My wife consistently rides in the left lane and I have to repeatedly remind her to move over, even if there's no cars behind us. She's really just oblivious to it, which is probably the case for left lane campers.
