Sidenote, if you guys were to make a list of your favourite series of all time what would it look like?
Personally I'd have some combination of Friends, Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Malcolm in the Middle, Lost, House, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Breaking Bad. With a few of Netflix originals sprinkled in there.
Stranger Things is good, but I'm worried about season 3. Black Mirror seems great. 13 Reasons Why is a teen drama type but it was good.Is any Netflix original other than Master of None even decent?
It could be due to a threshold of psychology; I think time is the most valuable commodity in the universe (much more than money and those aspects). As UR put it, I find myself watching 25-30 minute episode shows much more than the full hour ones majority of the time. For example, I quite like Boardwalk Empire, but I haven't watched an episode of it for a solid six months because my interest it in sort of faded away. I still want to finish it, but it is not a priority for me. However, I would totally binge watch hour episodes of Daredevil and those Marvel shows because I find them more creative/interesting. One aspect I mentioned long ago about Breaking Bad, is I could save the trouble of watching the entire show and just put on the local news story of a meth lab (you can't really do that with Daredevil or Agents of Shield). It might be amazing television with a good story line, deep characters, and awesome interactions, but the threshold of it (for me) isn't interesting enough to start watching it.nd I haven't watched a lot of the shows on your list but how can you say you wouldn't like them? Breaking Bad and GOT are amazing television. I think if you gave em a try you'd get hooked.
Fresh Prince is awesome though.
I heard from my friend that Sons of Anarchy gets really boring. Any truth to that?Sons of Anarchy shares a decent amount of themes with FA:B, as far as family ties, brotherhood, and being outlaws go. You never know - you might like it if you give it a chance. I agree with you on a decent amount of shows on your list, though. Having seen most of them, only a couple of them can stand up next to FA:B or Cowboy Bebop.
You mean the political agendas? And then there's the stupid musicals and the "Conway Twitty" jokes. But it doesn't really bother me. He does seem like a , but it is what it is.@UncleRisto The first couple of seasons of Family Guy is pure gold and then Seth McFarland had to ruin it with his smugness and just putrid personality. He's up there with Trump as just awful people of the world.
Not really politics or any of the sort. He just seems like a really shitty person and I try to avoid anything made by him. Which sucks because I quite enjoyed Family Guy.You mean the political agendas? And then there's the stupid musicals and the "Conway Twitty" jokes. But it doesn't really bother me. I think the biggest omission from this discussion about the greatest sitcom has to be Malcolm in the Middle. It’s a lot funnier and a lot better than I remember it as a kid. Definitely a show worth watching, if you have the time.
Wholeheartedly agree.
I came in to HIMY late, but became a big fan of it (again, for what it was--at no time did I think I was watching anything close to "the best TV comedy of all time"...it was what it was, TV comfort food), but that series finale was, to put it as nicely as possible, ****ing garbage.
And what made it worse was hearing that Bays & Thomas had an alternate ending where The Mother didn't die, but didn't use it because they had "always planned for the series to end the way it ended"...okay, well that shows that they failed to recognize that their show evolved and they needed to course-correct their ending.
I mean they went on something like 4 or 5 seasons/years building up to Barney and Robin's wedding, set the final season in the 56 hours leading up to said wedding, and then do a time-jump divorce 15 minutes into the series finale? Garbage.
How many times did they beat over the audience's head that Ted and Robin weren't right for another? The last time I did a re-watch of HIMYM I tried to count and I lost count...that's how many times. But they kill The Mother off and have Ted chasing after her again? Garbage.
If the series had gone 3 seasons, that ending probably is really loved because it's young enough in the show's life, and they hadn't bludgeoned the audience that Ted and Robin don't work together. But 9 years of storylines and changes, and not to mention the turning of Barney Stinson from nothing more than a one-note character to actually have some (not a lot, but some) semblance of depth...nah, let's chuck that in the garbage can 15 minutes into the series finale. ****ing amateurs, those two.
And don't get me started on Lily...
I struggle with shows that have any type of fiction.
Everyone told me to watch Walking Dead. I told them I couldn't because I don't care about zombies. Everyone told me it's not just about zombies and it's so much more. I watched like 4 seasons just waiting to stop focusing on zombies and it never happened. I just found it so stupid and I didn't think the story was good. I realized i'll never get over the zombies so I quit on it.
Same thing with Stranger Things. Everyone said it's great. I was irritated by how unrealistic it was. I couldn't attach myself to anything because I thought it was dumb. I made it halfway through season 2 and again quit on it just because I realized it'll never suit me.
For this reason I've never watched an episode of Game of Thrones. I realize many people like these things and I wont crap on it because of that but it's certainly not for me.
@Murzu Mate you are right, FMA:Brotherhood is absolutely unbelievable. A billion times better than the original trash we were made to watch.

Woah, third time? I currently on the episode where Pride was revealed (won't try to spoil it for @Thepoolmaster if you're behind me).I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm wondering when I can start watching it for the 3rd time. It's just perfect.
Did anyone here ever watch Psych? My roommate and I got back into that show recently and I forgot how good that show is.
Well...this sucks to read, haha.Boring is the wrong word, I wish it became boring. It just became pretty damn bad but still worth watching the show.
That's the one about the detective right? I liked it but not one of my favourites.

How's your grand journey of One Piece? Are you on episode 789 now of 1,200?

I think it depends on the person in the end. Some people like shows based on real life such as meth labs, mobsters, gangs, and the whole lot, while others like more creative aspects such as me. I am not going to sit here and state that Daredevil is must watch TV, but I still think it is a damn good show in the end. It mixes what I consider real life television with a more creative storyline where you get the best of both worlds (similar to Nolan's Batman trilogy). Agent of Shields for example brings in a lot of aspects as well, but with a ton of really interesting plot twists that keeps me wanting to tune in. This differs to GoT which seems like a "R-Rated" version of Lord of the Rings. There's a certain point with Sci-fi/fantasy types that I can't get into, but more-so Marvel type shows or movies. That's one genre that I just care zero about.
