Ah I see. Then I agree with your post. Question here if say Vancouver signed RoR to a one year deal, would they be able to sign him to another contract right away? Or would they have to wait a certain time.

We could negotiate an extension this July.

Edit: Actually I'm not sure. I misread your question. I imagine they could start negotiating right away but I'm not 100% sure.

A first round pick is a must, and either an established top 6 forward or a top prospect. Not a B prospect, but a top prospect. Kyle Okposo is a nice piece but he's just attractive to some people here because he's shiny. For those who see the value in David Booth they would see the value in Okposo. Right now Okposo is really just another tweener on our team, although he's still young, and has potential.

I see. If you don't mind me asking could you post some players you have in mind as the top 6 forwards or top prospects from the teams who have expressed interest? I just want to see how much you value Luongo compared to myself. I hope I'm not wasting your time or anything :)

Honestly that's pretty bad. I was thinking of a Ballard for Okposo trade or something of that sorts.

This, I'm all for Okposo if he costs next to nothing.

There's a thread on the main boards calling him the most disappointing player in the league. While I can't say that is true or false, reading through that thread he seems like the perfect player for AV's doghouse.

Apparently he smokes too.

Well from Tampa I'd be looking at Connolly, Gudas and a 1st round pick.

From Florida before the trade deadline I'd probably look at Weiss, Shore (or Petrovic, and a 1st round pick, OR Bjugstad and a 1st round pick.

If we were dealing with San Jose I'd be looking at someone like Joe Pavelski.

Ah that's actually fairly close to what I'd want for Lu. Would you do Bjugstad+Weiss for Luongo? I doubt the Panthers move there 1 st.

NYI, Florida, TB, Wash, Tor all have questionable or crappy goaltending. Goaltending coul be the difference between one of them making the playoffs over the other. Guess it depends exactly how bad these teams are interested in winning and pushing for the playoffs.

Where are we talking about ROR? I went to bed and was going to post on here gillis needs to offer sheet him, but figured people would say gillis wont offer sheet because he said so, wake up, now calgary offered him, but some reports on twitter so did the canucks? But he chose calgary?

Jesus.

If anyones been following the story, maybe direct me where its being discussed.

Edit-Nevermind gilman claimed it was a bad scoop, they did not send him an offer.

I still wouldn't do that trade. Bozak is overrated and a UFA at the end of the year, and I really don't think Kadri would have this kind of success in our lineup.

So, you're begging for another talented forward but want no part of a rookie, PPG centreman because he has only shown he can produce for an extremely defensive oriented coach and with mediocre to poor linemates?

Lance Armstrong would be proud.

Has anyone seen what his advanced stats look like? Just wondering.

He says after Kadri scores a hat trick.

I never cared for Bozak, though. Kadri++ was acceptable before his breakout season to me, now I wouldn't trade Luongo at all, but would trade Schneider for something around JVR or Kadri.

I just want to see if he's being sheltered or not. His point totals are making me crow though.

Not particularly. He has been excellent for them in every way. That said, his point totals are not representative of his line's actual play. They'll come down sooner than later (or if they don't, don't project his next season based on this one).

Good for him then; I'll keep on eating my crow.

I said the exact same thing yesterday...

It's one thing to be wrong about Kadri before he had proven anything at the NHL level. It's another thing to stand by the assertion he's of little value to us when he's a high skillevel centreman that is producing like a 1st liner and Kesler can't play 1 regular season game without re-injuring himself.

why was it so hard to see Kadri's awesomeness? he thinks the game on another level and makes plays in a fraction of a second that most would never think of in a lifetime. plus he has great hands but its the hockey IQ that sets him apart. Guy's a natural.
