A few awesome songs from the ladiesss!
Jason grew up a few miles from where I live here in Virginia. I agree; he's got a great voice! Two things:
1) Went to a concert in Boca Raton FL last weekend, Jason Mraz has one of the best live voices I've ever heard. The guy never misses a note, and he puts on a great performance. If you have the opportunity to go see him, I suggest it.
2) Just happened to hear Michael Jackson's Beat It today in the car. As someone who was not alive in the 80's, I never truly appreciate how talented he was as an artist. I can only imagine what it was like when a new song of his would come out

My father was in the radio industry during the 80s, and claims to this day no one will ever come to the popularity and craze that Michael achieved from Thriller.Thriller was HUUUUGE.
A monumental crossover between pop and rock, which meant more stations of airplay on both frequency bands.
Appealed to teens and adults, boys and girls, men and women.
Both fully intertwined with and opportunistically exploited the birth of MTV music videos the year before it was released.
Jackson's videos were as captivating as the album.
Thriller eventually became the #1 selling album of all time and remained so for years. It's now #2 all time to AC/DC Back in Black.
Managed to get the younger spawn in to see one of her current fav groups while she was visiting family in WNY. My sister was hosting her and asked if I had any ideas about things the kiddo would like. So I said - go see these folks:
Never heard of the group before, but I'll have to check them out. Pretty fun listen.
I was too young for Thriller (Born end of 81) but Michael Jackson was something that was part of the music world as I grew up. I remember Bad coming out and being everywhere but even then I was still pretty young. The first song that I specifically remember was Black or White. You’d go to school and excitedly talk about having seen the video.2) Just happened to hear Michael Jackson's Beat It today in the car.
