Yeah their offense has dried up in the playoffs the past couple years. This gives them a little more ammo. I respect it.

Even though playoffs are the goal this year, its not about to cost us the future to make it into the playoffs when Carolina and Vegas are going to ice teams that could beat all but like 5 international teams.

If the wings give Seider and Raymond an opportunity to play in a 7 game series, that would make me a happy lad.

Anyone is tradeable with enough assets attached. If you're saying it's not worth the assets, that's fine. Holl has a 10 team NTC, Petry has 15 team NTC and NMC. Easy solution would be to waive Holl if it comes down to making roster space.

No way he waives Holl or Petry. They clearly outplayed Ed in preseason as well as this whole season. Detroit’s philosophy is that you have to earn your spot

If Yzerman can get Holl off the roster I will call this deadline a success. 5.4 million off the cap next year is huge.

In doing a write-up on Kostin on the mains, it clicked in my head that Klim joined the NHL like 30 years too late. DPE era he'd have been a McCarty. But even a 24yo McCarty dumped into the modern NHL would be equally useless.

McCarty played up and down the lineup had more skill than kostin could dream of. Plus McCarty is all heart. Hes a key role player that would still be a very important piece today. Kostin is invisible 98% of the time. No comparison. If kostin was half of what McCarty was to this team he wouldnt have gotten traded.

For sure, Darren could skate, shoot, and defend. The grind line went up against any line, Kostin couldn't cover Zadina.
