Also it was announced last season that the expectations weren’t just to make the playoffs but to compete. “Our window opens now” or whatever…blah blah blah.

Start with an honest inventory then we can have a reasonable dialogue.

Not trading Samuelsson in the off-season was a major error. He was in rumors. I have no doubt that he would have returned a steady vet RHD that would have addressed our needs and stayed in the lineup.

Not to mention, most importantly, breaking up the country club locker room.

Getting him at the full cap hit of $8M per this season AND next season is not exactly low risk. Especially if he is completely checked out because he is mad about being moved out of NYC.

I think Columbus keeps him to add to their RHD depth after dealing Jiricek.

The conversation is about Trouba being waived because his 15 team No Trade list blocks a move to a team that wants him.

Just like Drury did before when a player blocked a trade.

I have no interest in Trouba because he's an asshole and he's terrible at hockey, but...

@Chainshot mentioned something about punching Power in the face the other day in response to how he plays defense. I would consider adding Trouba and making him Power's partner, because he would actually be likely to punch him in the face.

Brooks always makes me laugh. It's clear that Drury leaks things to him purposefully when he wants to get something out there. he was in full force with Eichel, and to be fair, I think Eichel's agent at the time was trying to get him the Rangers.

Seems like Fowler is the name talked about being moved though how soon, I don't know (he's 13 games from 1000 with the Ducks).

There is step one for the Rangers to get Tkachuk. They dumped Trouba's salary. The rich get richer and NYR has a way of pulling things off over the years.

I don't see Tkachuk leaving Ottawa but if he does the NYR or NJD would be top of the list I would guess.
