part of that return for Detroit was taking Gagner's cap hit. Edmonton moving an expiring contract. Wouldn't pay to do that unless they're trying to make room for someone else.

Your words, not mine. We've won one single Cup in the past 80 years. To expect another one to magically happen in the next 7 is fantasy of the highest order, and I'm not nearly that deluded

From your words you dont the the rangers have a shot at anything in the next 7yrs regardless.

Magically win? Come on who saying that? Hearing voices again?

Rangers are better off having a key player on their team, and leader, show the way to a young developing team.

I'm sure you'd rather have a late first and a prospect?

Skjei for Gardiner+ seems like something that could be done. A little salary relief and Gardiner has been quite unlucky this season. Metrics are nice.

Since alot of people are quoting with the same reply, you guys are missing my point. If Minnesota can move Parise, anything is possible. CK isn't bound to us for life. Step off the ledge folks.
This is true, and I don't disagree with the sentiment, but we had to buy out Girardi, Staal is still here, only compliance saved us with Richards, etc. There are some real anchor-around-the-neck contracts that have been moved, but we don't seem to know how to do it. We just use buyouts and keep guys around forever.

this is the worst trade deadline lol

Want a Buch or a Goalie? Sry, Car accident
Kreider , nah we want to mortgage our next 7 years
Brady? Oh, you have no cash?
Fast? Oh wait, we lost Buch for a bit. Have to check with the hospital
Strome? ADA? Anybody?

So far we lost players and more cap space with no additions. What in the world?

Some important dates moving forward:
  1. The 2020 NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 26–27, 2020 in Montreal.
  2. The first buyout period begins the later of June 15 or 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Final ends. It concludes on June 30,2020 at 5 pm EST.
  3. The second buyout period only applies to teams that have salary arbitration cases that year. That period lasts for 48 hours, beginning on the third day following the team's last salary arbitration award or settlement. However, if the case was sent to arbitration by the team and not the player, and the team did not give the player a qualifying offer, then the team must have at least two total arbitration cases for the second buyout period to be allowed.

Goddammit I really hate when you guys post you guesses and speculations at trades without saying it, makes it hard to know if it's an actual deal or not.

Trading Skjei for expensive roster players doesn't help the Rangers cap situation. It'll probably be for a pick, prospect, and maybe a depth defensemen like Fleury or Bean.
