If a frigging scouting card on batter tendencies is so damn important, maybe they should find a better way for the catcher to secure it and keep it from the other team. Is Borucki really to blame though? The ball was no longer in his possession when it hit Kiermaier. In Kiermaier's mind once Borucki no longer has it it belongs to him. Borucki was just speeding up the process of Kiermaier stealing things by just throwing the ball to him from the get go. Suddenly Kiermaier didn't want it.

The Jays should have left a catchers card at home plate on purpose that said exactly the same thing as the last one but for Kiermaier it should have said: "plunk him in the back". Let the Rays take it and do nothing else.

The Montoyo ejection was because he waited longer than 20 seconds to challenge a call and the umpires wouldn't let him do it. His own screw up.

Challenging a call is also sticking up for your players in a way, and he screwed that up.

We are playing Minnesota while Yankees and Sox beat each other up. Gotta take at least 3 of 4 in Minnesota. I think anything less will be disappointing. I think if Jays take 3 of 4 they will position themselves nicely in the wild card race no matter who wins between Boston and NYY.

That’s because there was nothing to support.

I love the Jays, but, that was a cheap throw to KK in that sense. It was likely a combination of the card stealing fiasco plus the Rays pushing their shit in at that point in the game. Far be for me to agree with anything Buck says, but, he’s right when he said that plunk looked bad on the Jays.

I said that I was surprised because usually Buck is old school, in the past this incident would be expected and resolved with the hit batter and nothing more would be said. I guess Buck has evolved to a newer way of thinking, not that I personally agree with, but as Montoyo said that is aqua under the bridge.

If the Jays can take 3 of 4 against the Twins, they're guaranteed to be at least tied for a Wild Card spot regardless of what happens in the Yankees-Sox series. Even though they're a half game out right now, they're in a pretty good spot to just get the job done on their own without having to count on other teams helping them get in.
