Dude just isn't reading the play at all. Over or underplays passes, doesn't see through light traffic, and just flat out isn't reacting quickly. Puck skills, and feel, have been bad, like really really awful, top shelf beach ball level bad.

Mostly he has been average or slightly below average.

Its the PK that is tanking all his counging stats.

That said he was just plain bad vs Habs.

Goalies are vastly overrated and often only good as the team plays in front of them. One year a guy posts Vezina numbers, the next he's AHL quality. One year a goalie is a struggling backup, the next season he's Linus Ullmark, Martin Jones, Logan Thompson etc etc. Put in a good coach with a solid defensive structure and even Spencer Martin would be a Vezina front runner.

I used to enjoy Friedmans take’s but now he just sounds like most of the other Hacks!

Friedman trolls Canadian teams outside of Toronto.

The guy is a cancer and a menace to the NHL. He hides his bias and complete lack of objectivity reasonably well though. Scratch that. He hides it extremely well.

None of goals against today were bad or soft... but damn we are past the point of excuses for these numbers. Once again sub 900. Seemingly every other goalie puts up an occasional shutout, or dominant 1GA game, regardless of team. Any minimum wage scrub can come in and make just the saves that should be made.

Nucks had plenty of powerplays themselves, and like 4-5 partial, to full blown breakaways, but aren't converting @50% like every team seems to do vs us.

Demko like the rest of the team gave up in the preseason. Horvat is trying but motivated by money. Demko stood on his head last season but probably said f*** it once he saw the defense at training camp and management's decision to mail it in in the offseason.
 
The Carolina game is literally the only good or acceptable game he's had this season.

Even last night there were some definitely stoppable shots he let in - Boston's xGF was only 2.28.

Would surprise me, but thank you for the answer :clap: Team's own fans always know the best, that's why I sometimes ask here :) Cause of respect too and the knowledge part. Old school coach boudreau though... changing the winning lineup. Two games a week. Interesting, very interesting indeed I would say.

He has changed the winning line up before this season.

I think they go 50/50 with Martin/Demko until Demko starts to find his form.

I do think there is a bit of a "crabs in a bucket" mentality among Canadian hockey journalists, where they prop up their own team while pumping hot takes to drive down the zeitgeist in other markets.
I think it's enough of a "problem" that it has genuinely affected the abilities/chances of a Canadian team winning the cup the past 30 years. There is never a "Canada's team". If a Canadian team is in the Finals I feel compelled to cheer against them if they aren't the Canucks, much due to the success of the hockey media in convincing me that Calgary & Edmonton don't deserve happiness.

Most of the media has sat on their hands during the Benning farce but now they just can't keep ignoring this laughable team.

It is big news because it is big news. Vancouver is a laughable joke.

They are 2 points out of dead last in the league and played two more games than teams behind them and ahead of them. That is news

Finally after 8 years of crap and the media holding hands with management they are calling the kettle black.

What are media guys supposed to do? Tell all the fans how good their teams are daily even if they are losing like they want to? How many fans in Canada want to know what is happening in Arizona, Chicago, Dallas or New Jersey? That would sell real good eh?

Pull your heads out of the ground and reset your reality to what IS, not what you wish. Why not wish for rainbows every day.

How long would Oprah last on a hockey show? Oh I forgot that was a major staple on some sports shows when Benning was running the show.

This is a bad team in Canada, a group that had Tshirts had made that stated "Unfinished Business" and then fell flat on their face, what do they report, "right on schedule", "Doing fine" do you realize how dysfunctional this team is, the players?

Hockey is Canada, not CFL anymore. It is the biggest story other than real news. The NFL has close to the same number of rampant fans but in Canada it is a much higher percentage. Hockey IS Canada's sport and so Canadian teams are the story.

Which Canadian team is the best or the worst or the most F**ed up. Or the one that is the most disappointing to it's fans. Even Button has finally succumbed to the reality there is little to promote on the Canucks.

Great youth, young team, the same talk for 5 years, all of Hughes and Pettersson for 4/5 years now Boeser is 25 going on 26, a veteran, Hughes is the only one that might fit "young" and he is a 4 year vet. Montreal is young, their entire first line is YOUNGER THAN PETTERSSON!!!!! and they played 11 rookies, that is young, NJD did that a couple of years ago and they are still mostly younger than Pettersson.

For years the media ignored the Canucks, now they aren't unfortunately because they are so f*****d up and a an embarrassment and joke in the league.
