I was sitting all by myself as there weren't enough tickets for all my friends in one spot.

The first period was rough (Morrissey needs to step up) but the team really dug deep.

The turning point was Lowrys hit on Tuch. That waste of a roster spot Reaves challenges Lowry and he stepped up like a champ. You should have seen the team rally around that. They were changed al from that moment on.

HUGE props to Lowry!! I didn't make many friends in that section tonight but I will say Vegas fans are incredible. I have a very different opinion of the team after watching a game there
_____________________________________________

I agree that Lowry stepping up and fighting the toughest guy in the league was a huge motivator for this team, and Lowry more than held his own against Reaves. From that point forward the Jets dug deep and fought back to win that game--thank Adam for that.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Jets finally scored on the PP .... woohoo.
Did anyone noticed who was screening Subban ... I was shocked Wheeler standing right in front of Subban blocking his vision ... what a great idea.

Hmmm ... two straight games Vegas has blown a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period ... fire the coach.:D

I said in the summer we need Lowry to start impacting the game like Tom Wilson.

All he needs to is up the scoring a bit and he is there. It's going to come. Great job.

Niku and Heinola have tons of skill and upside but it’s still a mans league and sometimes man sized guys like the Potato, the Sbisa, the Dullstom and the Poolman are needed!

Potato and Sbisa weren’t bad tonight!

I like sipowicz posts when he is almost sober.

Exciting game for sure! Great and deserved win. Maurice was right when he said that this team was horse shit in last game. After that, team effort was there and everyone played hard. Kudos for Lowry for standing up for himself. Reaves needed to stand up for his team, so it was good and honest fight. Little is our 2nd line center, he has been good.

Have to say that Laine is awesome and he is future superstar. He is a real power forward now. He hits hard, makes some very good passes and is good defensively. He forget how to score goals tho. :P

Never really noticed Stone or Stastny tonight, the Knights are good but not as good as they think they are, give me an ugly win over a pretty loss anytime, 4/6 on the road, we may not make the playoffs but it's going to be a wild and wacky ride

Stone-Stastny-Pacioretty was playing against ELL all night.

So how many fines does Gallant get from this one?

Thought the league was really cracking down on the staged fights. Putting Reaves out for a draw isn’t even trying to hide it.

Reaves didn’t seem too eager in that fight, probably would have skated circles all night if Lowry would have let him. Maybe he’s a couple head shots past expiry.

I wish I could super like this.

Real class and concern by Maurice and just a stand up move by Lowry

1000% ^ this boys.

I use to love fighting in hockey but have soured on it for a number of reasons in the 2.0 era (side effects being being so much more evident, DH, appointment fights with zero passion.....the list goes on).

Last night was very different for me. The sequence of events that led to the Lowry Reeves fight triggered emotions in me that are more primal. No matter what my mind tells me my heart loved that fight. I don’t think Lowry intended to hurt Tuch but he did and the results/optics looked bad. Nobody on the Ice on Vegas challenged Lowry at the moment because it wasn’t quite that flagrant that people noticed instantly. Gallant was obviously pissed by the outcome and did what he had to by sending Reeves out to challenge Lowry which (rightly or wrongly) is how hockey has dealt with things historically. Maurice saw it and gave Lowry the out. The moment of the night was when Lowry waved him off and said, nope I am willing to man up for my actions and I will accept the challenge from the toughest guy in the league. That is a moment I won’t forget. It was a clean fair fight and shockingly Lowry held his own.

The team was different from that point forward. Usually fighting doesn’t seem to change much but last night that was not the case. That reminded me a bit of when Malkin new he owed Wheeler one after his cheap shot he he accepted the challenge. I admired Malkin for that. I am sure Reeves (I know who cares) and his Vegas teammates respect that Adam stood up too.

That was a moment.

Totally different games, Wilson is an energy guy (and fighter) that is expected to chip in with a few goals (hence his pay grade). He often sees shifts with Ovechkin, and seldom sees the opponent’s top line. Lowry is paid to play defence first, and frequently sees the tough match up. Wilson would be totally overwhelmed in the Lowry role.
Everyone gets so wrapped up in goals and assists. Look back so far this year, even with the tough match ups, facing the McDavids of the league, how many goals against has Lowry been in for? It is great to be a 15-20 goal scorer, but if your on for 30-40 against as well, it’s a little counterproductive

I shut her down after the first. East coast / west coast time thing. Just got caught up on the second and third. Fun way to win a game. Brossoit with tons of Timely Saves and another Win. We need grit. Lowry is one of our few gritty guys and wow did that change the tone of the game. Waiving off the coach for the change - love it. Taking Reaves down - love it. Overtime with our skill guys out there with lots of ice - you can see the forward talent on this team really shine.

BTW - on our third goal, that was icing.

Great win. Go Jets Go!

Yea if the shoe was on the other foot and Vegas scored a goal on us like our 3rd goal this thread would be double the size. What a horseshit missed call. Nice it went our way.

My problem is that no Vegas player really challenged Lowry on the ice after the hit. That's what you would expect. Instead they wait for a shift change and put out their designated fighter/goon to make Lowry pay. That staged retribution without emotion in the moment is just a coaching tactic. It's not a good look for Vegas to have all their players standing around and waiting for the coach to send Reaves out to settle scores.

Normally it does happen right in the moment but who knows it didn't really look ugly or cheap initially but the results were bad. Maybe the guys on the ice were a bit delayed in their reaction for that reason who knows?

Correct. The Palmieri one was much more what you would expect in defending a team mate.
As for the game, when it was 3-1 I had said Bro just needed to make the next saves to keep us in and he did, we showed a lot of resilience from the night before and from the first period of this game. The boys didn't quit and different guys are getting it done, Helly in SJ, Perreault last night. Don't worry, the big dogs will get going soon too and will start winning us games. The is the kind of start of the season I like, it builds resilience. When this squad is 100% healthy they will be tough to beat with good goaltending. It was nice to beat Vegas btw. Great job Jets.

Great win. Broissont was rock solid after goal 3.
We outplayed them or got the better of Vegas the rest of the way.
Kudos to Huddy....I'm not sure how you get that crew playing well enough to be 500
Wheeler looks stressed every shift.....not sure if that's bothering Schiefele
Connor Little Copp Ehlers Roslo Lowry are still formidable and Perreault with 2
Laine manned up and played well for some one hurting.
Did PoMo lose or cost us the game Or did the players win.
Hats off to Lowry

NEVER would I have guessed the Jets would win this when going down 1-3. The lucky breaks we’ve gotten in the last two games (disallowed goal, waved off icing) are directly responsible for the four points, but I’ll take them and run! Nice goal by Connor to finish it off, and great game by Perreault :)

But what the hell was dropping Laine off PP about? Last year he was criticized for getting too many of his points off the PP and now he’s not on it. It’s not Laine’s fault the PP hasn’t worked this season. Absolutely insane decision to take one of the best PP players off the PP, I mean come on!
Maybe, just maybe it’s about Laine’s injury. Maurice said he’s going to have to watch Laine’s minutes and he didn’t look 100% yet, so could very well be injury related. What do you guys think?
