Purrrrroh got his game in gear tonight - nice to him contributing - I was concerned.

Anyway, considering a back to back and how we looked the previous night, this was a different team out there.
So, who get's the credit? Note that most of the Mo haters are not contributing to the PGT - why is that?

Off to the Buff injury thread to spin conspiracy theories?

Even though I am a critic of Maurice’s deployment, leadership and systemic strategies, I am overjoyed that the Jets won. Winning is what it’s all about. I would also be overjoyed if I was wrong about Maurice, and that he is a great coach! If so, great for the Jets!

Post-game audio:

Players: Adam Lowry and Kyle Connor.

Coach Maurice scrum topics: On the comeback of his team. How much better was his team tonight as opposed to last night? On what Mathieu Perreault could do well in the PP1 role. On the 3rd period icing. Did he see the replay? What role did Adam Lowry's fight have on the game? Status of Tucker Poolman. On the discussion with the officials. Putting together an identity. On having Laine on the second power play unit. Play of Laurent Brossoit.

I'll tell ya -- that Lowry is one tough customer -he more than held his own against Reaves. I think he slightly got the better of him. It's nice to know we have an enforcer if players try to intimidate, and push our smaller guys around. Adam is a big guy at 6'5 -- tough as nails.

Kyle Connor said that fight motivated the team --way to go Adam--it sends a mesage to the rest of the NHL --don't mess with our boys :punk:

Never really noticed Stone or Stastny tonight, the Knights are good but not as good as they think they are, give me an ugly win over a pretty loss anytime, 4/6 on the road, we may not make the playoffs but it's going to be a wild and wacky ride

Until the two points spend any worse, I'll take the ugly win every time. This ain't figure skating; there are no style points to consider.

Rosie La Rose's observations:

I thought the tide started to turn when Lowry won the fight with Reaves. I didn't see the hit, but the injury makes me believe he is going back on the suspended list. The major adjustment that Maurice made that gave this team some life was taking Poolman off the pairing with Morrissey, and giving Pionk that time, the defense offensively suddenly sustained pressure after that move. But Poolman hardly played in this game. Seems like the candidate to get cut when Beaulieu draws back in. Not sure I want to see Beaulieu and Kulikov as the 2nd pairing. Would be nice to see Kulikov-Niku though, and Beaulieu with maybe Sbisa. Unfortunately we have too many middling d-men to get there. Still they got the job done I suppose.

GTG was clearly icing, that was one of the worst calls I saw all year. Nice that it went in our favour.

I didn't really like any of the lines tonight. Thought that Karlsson owned Scheif for most of the game. I'd love to build off success:

Connor-Scheif-Laine. Laine played his best hockey when Scheif was on the ice and Wheeler changed early. The chemistry with Connor is there, see GWG.

Ehlers-Little-Rosie. They won the S.J game, I like Roslovic as the digger to fill out the skill on this line. That might be the fast pair of wingers in hockey.

Copp-Lowry-Wheeler. Remember how dominant they were in preseason. Why not get another look, gives a 3rd layer to the scoring.

Perreault with 2 goals tonight. I thought Maurice was crazy putting him on the top PP, but hey it worked when we needed a goal.

I like the smarts of this Gustafsson kid. He is going to score soon, if we keep on plugging him.

I cringe every time I see Bitetto and Sbisa come out for the 1st PK. What happened to us?

Brossoit made enough saves. We're above .500 again, and the dogfight for wildcards is going to be rabid. Take the two points and get out of town.

I think we know what Maurice is. He has a long history in the league. He’s very likeable, but he’s not a great coach.
