I call BS on Drouin and Kulak but would be very happy to see them moved. I'd be shocked if we could get a 5th for Kulak, but would gladly take it if so. Drouin is so frustrating, so skilled yet so soft.

Drouin yes - it is hard to see how a contender could fit him under the cap for this year and next.

Kulak - UFA Dman. Easily movable for a pick and contenders are always looking for depth, especially on D. Wouldn't be surprised to see him dealt for at least a 5th, maybe even a 4th.

I am genuinely curious to see what a 50% retained Drouin, who scored a whopping 15 goals in the last 3 years COMBINED, would fetch. IMHO he needs to be an add-on to Lehtonen to get a Compher/Kerfoot type of return
Lol…

Why would he re-sign for 3-4 years barring major overpay? How are you going to turn THIS team around in 3 years with so many bad contracts and zero notable prospects coming in just 3 years?
Well he’s an RFA and pretty sure he likes being in MTL. Not sure why you’re so concerned we don’t want to trade him for a mid round pick? If you want him on the wings so bad pay up or move on if you’re not willing to. Why would MTL move him without overpayment? To make some other team happy?

I don’t understand why people are so up in arms about Gorton / Hughes getting so many calls about their players. I’m sure that any time a new GM takes over their phone lines will be blowing up. A GM like Bergevin may have told all teams that he is holding out to get a 1st round pick for Chariot. Yet the new management may only view him as getting a 2nd rounder in return. You never know how someone values a certain player. Plus some players may be off limits unless an extreme over payment yet for the new GM that said player may be available.

To get something of value for a player who does nothing for your team and is unlikely to stay. Who the he’ll would like playing in Montreal right now?

Well he’s been there a long time. Been on two nice playoff runs. Came up with the franchise. One bad year doesn’t ruin that otherwise guys like Larkin and Bertuzzi woulda demanded to leave the wings. Especially when you consider what a hell hole that city is….

Remains to be seen if they will actually re-sign long term and at least now the Wings are on the up swing. You do there’s a huge difference between demanding to be traded and just not re-signing, yea?

Well I guess he can choose one year if he thinks like you and really wants to get the hell out of town so bad. Pretty sure he loves the city though.
I still wouldn’t sell him for a crap pick until next year if he won’t sign long term. We’d be very lucky if a mid round pick becomes as good as him. Pretty sure you’ll be surprised the return if we do trade him because players like him are very valuable in the playoffs. GMs will see this- see his line mate Danault last year.

Pretty sure you haven’t seen him play much or maybe don’t know what you’re looking at. There’s a reason the reports are teams are “begging” the habs to give him up. Those are the guy from TSN’s exact words. Yeah when a team comes begging we should just say sure give us a 3rd. It’s not like he’s being shopped, we’re happy to keep him.

According to most ratings, including HF boards… yeah you really are. Guhle is good, but the rest is pretty meh compared to most other teams. You’re more than 3 years out from the playoffs.
how many years out are the red wings ?

this will be six straight years the redwings have missed the playoffs. now they have succeeded in getting to the bottom ten of the pack. no more high draft picks to add to to seider . they should have sucked for one-two more years to get a couple more key components. i think this fan is just a little bitter that there rebuild will be short a few stories .

I'd give up a 2nd for him, and probably a low level prospect. I don't think Montreal is getting much more than that, though. The issue for the NYR will be adding another bottom-six salary for next year at over $3M per when their #1 priority should be to keep Strome OR replace him with a solid 2C. Goodrow and Lehkonen on a third line could be dynamite.
