If he continues his early season play, Justin Faulk will have a case to make the roster.

I am excited for 2022 …. But when you think of 2026 … wow. You have those in their primes:
Matthews, Eichel, Larkin, Hughes, the TkAchuks, Debrincat, Connor, etc …. But then add it the kids: Zegras, Caufield, Norris, Turcotte, Boldy, Kaliyev, Beniers, Farabee, Wahlstrom, Robertson …. That’s crazy !

There is a dearth of skill on this team with alot of lineups I'm seeing posted especially without Eichel.

Zegras better be lights out between now and February because hasn't played enough in the league to warrant serious consideration. Every player upfront I ls far more deserving than Zegras.

Wheeler, Guentzel, Gaudreau, Farabee, Robertson, Lee, Garland, B. Tkachuk, Keller, Kesell, JVR, Palmieri, Whalstrom, Rust, Atkinson, Norris, Lebanc, hayes, Saad, Coyle, Smith, Roslovic, Schmaltz all easily ahead of Zegras right now. Take the homer glasses off.

In net, I have a feeling Gibson is going to claim #1, Hellebuyck would be 1B and then I really like the idea of Jack Campbell as the #3. Great locker room guy, experienced as a true backup if needed and tons of international experience.

And Gibson knows how to play under pressure on the international stage. Hope he gets on this US team.

Sucks the injuries keep piling up for us. Eichel, Tuch, Pacioretty and Hughes now all dealing with significant injuries that may or may not be ready/ have time to get up to speed.

I'm unclear on how much say the team has but even if Hughes comes back strong and earns a spot on the team, I can't imagine the Devils management will be too keen on him logging extra games coming off an injury like a dislocated shoulder.

Hughes didn't LOOK that bad. How long is he out for?

Still 3 months until the Olympics.

USA has really bright future. I can easily see them winning Olympics in 2026 or 2030 if not next year.

That D line & Goalie position is stacked with prospects. Canada on other hand look shaky in Goalie position.

Dislike as a Canadian but it's true.

So, who are the 50 names on the long list? I'd guess it will follow a 5 goalies, 15 d-men, 30 forwards model? Here's who I would have:

Goaltenders (x5):

Hellebucyk
Gibson
Peterson
Demko
Campbell

Defense (x15):

S. Jones
McAvoy
Q.Hughes
Pionk
Suter
Slavin
Pesce
Carlson
Fox
Werenski
Petry
McDonagh
Marino
Dumoulin
Fowler

Forwards (x30):

Wheeler
Connor
Garland
Boeser
Miller
Zegras
J. Hughes
Matthews
Kane
DeBrincat
Pavelski
Nelson
Lee
Palmieri
Gaudreau
M. Tkachuk
Coleman
Br. Tkachuk
Norris
Oshie
Eichel
Trocheck
Kreider
K. Hayes
Farabee
Guentzel
Rust
Larkin
Pacioretty

Looks just about right to me …. Only other names I think have a shot would be:
  • Cole Caufield (still believe he’ll get rollin when Montreal does)
  • Jason Robertson (once healthy)
  • Jacob Trouba (just brings a unique physical presence option to D)
  • Spencer Knight (just believe he is that special)

You can't be serious with Zegras over Saad, Coyle,
Keller, Kessel.

is there a reason Johnny Gaudreau not on the team other than you are a Nucks fan? He’ll be there before Boeser and Miller.
