The Rangers did not bother to step into the way of the Lightning the other night. They left their hitting game behind. Hitting to impede the opposition is core to the game of hockey. Hitting gets you into the game and increases your chances of winning.
It's part of hockey 101 and not to even be debated at this level.

No, drafting small inconsistent players is the way to go...we are great at drafting those players.

In a weird way a game like today could prove a lot of us right...In Boston with a tissue soft line up and not one scrapper...Sure none of this matters until we get another star concussed...I forgot we have Boyle who has a mean stare and gets ballsey when two refs are in between him and an ass kicking

Poor Boyle...too bad Dorsett wasn't there to protect him. Good thing we are plenty tough though.

Does AV still not know how we match up against the teams in the East. I got a idea...let's trade for Erat or Mouslon.

Its a good thing Boyle losing a fight didn't count as a goal against! Whew!!!

No it just demoralizes your team.

Can't wait until we trade Del Zotto for Mike Cammalleri or Brian Gionta. Are you upset I thought about those trade ideas before u?

No, I get upset when anyone thinks professional athletes could be so mentally weak that a fight demoralizes them. This toughness thing is an obsession with you - you are the equivalent of a one-issue "low information" voter

Yes, you are right. I am miss informed. I want 20 goons and nothing more. You on the other hand have your finger on the pulse with this team.

Don't people understand that the Rangers think they have their enforcer playing HFD right now? No need to trade valuable assets for a one-dimensional thug - McIlrath will be here before the end of the season.

Another finisher or, better yet, a young power center is a much bigger need.

Erat would make a huge difference and his 5.5 million dollar salary would slid right in with all the horse **** salaries on this team.

They were dominating play long before that. I know its your MO to make things up, but Im gonna call you on your BS.

The Bruins are just a better team -- it has little to do with toughness.

Doc Emrick just said Bruins are willing themselves to a win what does that mean exactly, doctor?

The Bruins are a better team but they are doing it with skill AND toughness. Lucic and Thornton are having their way with the Rangers.

It's not the fighting. The Rangers were just completely overmatched physically. If you can't win battles to get the puck, or to make a play with the puck, against top teams...does it really even matter how good your hands are? Or the amount of skilled plays you can make to rack up pretty points against bottom feeder teams?

Yes, SOME skilled teams can get away with not being physical. The ones that have generational talents lining up at forward. Save for that, you need a mix of skill and truculence through the lineup. The Rangers are woefully lacking in the latter.

The Bruins are very good--they are also very tough. It's part of their DNA. The Rangers can be very good--but they're not very tough. It's an advantage for the Bruins when the two teams meet up. It's one reason why they knocked us out of the playoffs last year. There are other reasons such as they've got three great point shots--Chara, Boychuk and Krug to our 0. They have a much better 4th line--one that's been playing together for a while. They look more like a team--players that mesh together better than ours do. Rangers have a problem with Lucic setting up in front of our net. Falk gave him a good shot today but--that's been an ongoing problem for a while. They've got 5 guys (who can all play) who can drop the gloves--Lucic, Chara, McQuaid, Thornton and Campbell. We have one guy Dorsett who is smaller than all of them and maybe Falk who's not in the lineup all the time.

don't know if anyone brought this up..... ONCE AGAIN, our best player, NASH, gets knocked over, after defending himself admirably against his guy, , then another bruins player comes over knocks both of them down and there is no ranger player in sight......
