The Rangers already have a good faceoff man on the 4th line who doesn't take faceoffs.

I saw. Moore is at 49%, and Boyle is at 56% and AV lines up Moore time after time on D-Zone draws. Moore is going to get tied up by bigger centerman to get a 50-50 and rely on the wingers to bail him out, yet this coaching staff sends him out time after time.

That's why he's a role player. Line up on 4LW, and have him take draws then to maximize the asset to it's full potential. Seriously this guy owns the face-off circle. Yannick Perault played more than a dozen years in the league on that alone.

Find offense elsewhere, there are quite a few holes on the roster that need upgrading.

I understand where you are coming from, but he isn't the player they need. He is slowing down (and he was never fleet of foot). Need someone with a little more speed and offensive pop. I like the face-off ability, but finding a Domnic Moore for the 4th line seems to make more sense.

Have you thought that maybe Moore goes against the stronger competition?

With the game being played at the speed that it is, it's not like every player is over the hill at 32, but I understand what you mean. I mean just replacing Pouliot with a Ryan Garbut type would do wonders for the team. That's a tough kid that can absolutely fly.

Another one is Matt Calvert, gritty, but has A plus wheels, not a game fighter by any means but plays a hard speed game. Boone Jenner is another in the CLB system that fits that mold. Brett Ritchie, Matt Fraser, are either close to or in the AHL that play that type of game.

Not goons, but hard nosed, smash mouth players that take it hard to the net.

Problem is you have to wait on them to physically mature to play that brand of hockey at the NHL level, not to mention all the other stuff. Buffalo rushed Foligno, MTL had to send MaxPac down to the minors to figure it out, Bobby Ryan was a cap casualty, but he wasn't a full time NHL player until 22. Same with Kreider. Power forwards take a a while to get it.

The difference in the W/L is too big of a difference, it shouldn't matter when his job is to win the draws. It's not like Moore's qualcomp every night is like McD or G's; meaning he's going up against the best players.

Being a puck possession team meaning winning faceoffs. Easiest way to gain control of the puck.

Hockey is a physical maturity sport. It has always been that way. For anyone over the age of 24, you know you didn't finish growing out, and by that I don't mean height, but weight and physical frame, until 23-24 or so. The age where guys become man strong.

For some it comes earlier, but generally it's around that age, and for guys that play that power game, they need to become man strong to play that way.
