I am pessimistic that we will get anymore reinforcements. Not that many more that we haven't heard about. Nylander is of course the big hope

I made a poll about Dahlin vs Heiskanen. It can also be used as a place of discussing about that subject. AB13 feel free to link this in the team Sweden thread as well if you want, so it doesn't feel like the poll is rigged because I now linked it in the team Finland thread.

Finns actually think Heiskanen vs Dahlin is still debatable so I guess you could vote and counteract their bias.

More non Finns than Finns voting Heiskanen. Don't want to derail this thread too, but just saying.

I personally don’t think we have enough derailed threads on here.
Speaking of which, I've personally always wanted to ask; which is faster, a medium sized, dead hedgehog or the sole of a medium sized shoe at the windspeed of 7m/ s an hour at a distance of 20 centimeters, where the corpse of the hedgehog is carried by 7 helium filled balloons in a reliable harness?

Speaking about something less important, I'm quite certain there will be no more NHL support from the 1st round. If Nylander joins I will run naked around my house three times at my preference and time of day.

Depends on how big the helium baloons are.

No you are probably right.

John wants to play with his brother. Michael Nylander teaches William a lesson about national pride and William listens. Engvall does what Bemström, plays without contract and Rakell wants revange for last year. Ullmark accepts a invite.

Ullmark

Dahlin - Larsson
OEL - Klingberg
Tömmernäs - Gustafsson

Top6:
Rakell - Wallmark - Nylander
Asplund - Kellman - Engvall

Grundström himself confirms it:

Lines right now:

Brome - Wallmark - Bemström
Asplund - Kellman - Grundström
Bengtsson - Nordström - Friberg
Lang - Åman - Klingberg

Now watch Garpenlöv call in Jonsson-Fjällby and Lias Andersson. Grinders - Gotta Catch ‘Em All!

So with Grundström and Pudas in, there is 3 spots left. If we dont get anymore more players from NHL it means that Folin, Söderblom and Linus Karlsson is in.

Speaking of Nylander. He was paired with Engvall lots of games. If one of them accept than the other might wanna too. "I wanna play with my buddy effect". Those 2 instead of Lang and Åman would be a major uppgrade.

AB13 are you related to Dahlin or probably most likely you are related to his agent? Just unreal, why do you have to bomb a Finnish thread with about two dozens of comments stating that Dahlin is better than Heiskanen?

btw that poll says 77% Heiskanen 23% Dahlin
  • Total voters 135

AB13 please continue your Dahlin-fanboy-rants here where they belong, in the swedish section :)

When Carl Grundström is the big 'get' you know you're in trouble.

Watch Hallam get a full NHL squad next year while Garpenlöv pretends it's just a coincidence.

Grundström is fine and I think he'll be an improvement for the team, but you know Garpen must've gotten a ton of no's before contacting Grundström.

I am actually a bit surprised that players are turning down Garpen en masse. When Grönborg was head coach, Garpen was the one handling relations with NHLers and a ton showed up. I guess they have no confidence in his coaching abilities.

I wonder if it can be caused by it already being known that it is Garpens last tournament. Mårts last tournament there was basically no player showing up as well. The players doesn't feel any risk of the coach holding a grudge when selecting a best-on-best team, since he is gone after the tournament

They've update the federation page with this info as well:

So these are the players we don't know the status of:
Linus Ullmark (under contract and healthy as far as we know, lost his starting job)
Marcus Pettersson (healthy and under contract)
Jacob Peterson (under contract and healthy)
Erik Källgren (healthy and under contract, back-up)
Pierre Engvall (RFA)
Timothy Liljegren (RFA and was scratched towards the end)

Ramus Sandin (RFA and scratched in the playoffs, likely not invited)
Anton Blidh (RFA and not a regular, unlikely to get invite)
Tobias Björnfot (under contract, scratched in the playoffs, likely not invited)
Lias Andersson (RFA and scratched in playoffs, likely not invited)
Axel Jonsson-Fjällby (not a regular, likely not invited)

I don’t see the point of adding guys like Grundström or other depth players this late. The obsession with NHL players is one of Garpenlöv’s worst qualities. Nylander is the only one worth waiting for.

I somewhat agree. While Peterson, Grundström etc are better players than the forwards on the team, the gap is not that huge. Another important aspect of hockey other than skill is team chemistry. Every time you bring in a new person to a group, it takes a while for everyone to find there place in the new group etc. Before the tournament start, I'd say bring in the best player possible, but once the tournament is under way, you need to take things like that into account. For players like Nylander it is obviously worth it, but players like Peterson etc idk.

Jalonen decided to bring players from the NHL if they are definitely better than other players on the team and can help the team win. Why players asked were Granlund, Hintz, Heiskanen and not someone like Kapanen.

But yeah nice to see you guys get Grundström
