Thanks for the swedish team. Have no real overview of that. However, we have some players returning from NHL that are quite good. And we beat Finland with half a first team. Junior players can go to the U20 championships if they don't take place in the NHL in the near future. NHL teams might even ike to let their future star players get som olympic experience. And Edvinsson is good. But not olympics good (yet). Omark faces steep scoring competition this season.

Adjusted team:

Marcus Sörensen - Carl Söderberg - Malte Strömwall
Jesper Olofsson - Anton Lander - Carl Klingberg
Oscar Möller - Jacob de la Rose - Pontus Holmberg
Oscar Lindberg - Pär Lindholm - Dennis Everberg
Joakim Nygård - Dennis Rasmussen

Niclas Folin - Jonathan Pudas
Henrik Tömmernes - Christian Djoos
Erik Gustafsson - Lukas Bengtsson
Philip Holm - Niklas Hansson

Lars Johansson
Magnus Hellberg
Adam Reideborn

As a Jokerit fan I'm pretty surprised to see Pudas so high above Holm.
I would have given Holm a slight edge from what I've seen

Sweden will do fine if they play well-organized and can shut down Finlands big boys in the premilinary round. There's going to be a lot of heat in the kitchen when Rantanen, Laine, Barkov, Aho, Teräväinen, Pulju and Hintz get to work.

f*** wellorganasized!

Elias Lindholm, Lucas Raymond, William Nylander, Gabriel Landeskog, Elias Pettersson, Mika Zibanejad and Filip Forsberg has scored more goals in the NHL this season. Or we send in Hedman, Brodin, Hampus Lindholm and Ekholm to neutralize the lions. Or we let Markström take care of whatever slips through.

But probably...PROBABLY do we let Arvy and Eriksson Oak & Co. forecheck the hell out of the finnish stale bottom defense pairings. There will be CHAOS in Helsinki! (last line of defense).Maybe even a loose puck (antsi) or two against the finnish goalie who I don't know the name of today. Maybe you should call retiree Rask. Team Finland would have a hard time battling Germany.

The Lions are just heating up (Even Kakko), will see what's the situation in january. Laine for example is injured and when three Swedes take go after him, it creates space for other forwards, just like with Bluejackets. Sweden has the depth and the defense, but Finland can score 5 goals in a period a la Mikko, Pate, Aho, Sasha, Pulju and Hintz. I hope for your sake the defense is stellar.

thats the problem, its not.

we all know garpenlöv is gonna play with karlsson, dahlin, hedman, klingberg, oel. its too many offensive players. we need lindholm, andersson, brodin, ekholm.

Maybe play Karlsson, Dahlin and Klinberg with Hedman, Lindholm, Andersson etc. But the blueliners on PP are pretty solid.

We have slightly more firepower than Finland too, on paper. Better forward depth. Worse coaching though of course.

Swedish headcoaches have gotten alot of crap on this forum. Could you consider trying Jalonen as a coach? The guy has won almost everything as the Finnish headcoach. Finland has had Swedish Curt Lindström in the 90's a coach for the national team.

Slightly yes I won't argue with that, much less than 15 years ago though.
Of course. This current Finland team is close to being the best Finland team of all time. And while I like the swedish forwards there is no Forsberg + Sundin like in 2006.

That would be awesome. I would like Cam Abbott aswell. But i dont think any of them wants. And neither does the swedish federation. They always want a swedish coach. Next coach is probaly gonna be Tomas Monten.

The recent Garpenlöv interviews really make it sound like Ekholm is assured of a roster spot and a key role, which is worrying. He should not be a sure thing at all. Hedman, Brodin, Karlsson, Lindholm, Dahlin, Klingberg, Forsling, Ekman-Larsson and even Kylington and Andersson are probably better players right now. I would also probably prefer Adam Larsson. Ekholm is a very reliable defensive player but I am not sure if he deserves a big role. Lindholm and Brodin are better in their own end and definately should be playing more minutes as our left handed shutdown guys.

Edler seems to be doing good in Kings. Both Adam Larsson and Ekholm is having bad seasons.

Edler should not be making the team either.

Hedman - Karlsson
Brodin - Klingberg
Lindholm - Dahlin
OEL/Forsling - Larsson/Andersson

That is a balanced group of players with different skillsets.

Might also have to consider Kylington if he keeps his good play up. He has probably never been a top 20 swedish defenceman in the league before this season though so it would be strange if he made it.

Hedman is the best offensive player in the world. I dont want him to be the stay-at-home d.
Wanting to pair Hedman with someone who lets him run free offensively is sound, but him and Karlsson can obviously contribute with ridiculous amounts of skill and puck moving while also being great defensively as a pair. Depending on Karlssons health and form, I still believe they could be the two best defencemen in the world during the olympics. Pairing them together would be fun to watch.

Who would you play with Hedman then?

Rasmus Anderrson.

Rasmus Anderrson.
I don't think he's inspiring enough with the puck to play top pairing minutes for us when we have many elite offensive defencemen. He is a good puck mover with decent creativity but I would prefer a more dangerous offensive weapon. Hedman - Andersson is nicely balanced though and I wouldn't mind that against lets say Canada when we might be pinned back a bit more.

I meant his offensive skills is among the best among d. if people think he is not even top 10 then they are not watching nhl.
I would think in the 5-10 range among defensemen is fair. But best offensive player in the world is ridiculous. You can't seriously tell me you think Hedman is a better offensive player than McDavid
