Olympics: Team Sweden 2022

As a top 9 is great. Don't understand the forward group concerns really. We have better forwards than Finland, but slightly worse than the US, I think.

even the 4th line is strong with arvidsson - eriksson ek - silverberg/rakell/Kempe

thats better than the 4th lines we had in the past with the likes of axelsson, jönsson, holmström and påhlsson.

Lindholm > Karlsson as center. 3rd line imho should be: Olofsson (Maybe Raymond) - Lindholm - Eriksson Ek
 
Pettersson is playing awfully this year, hopefully just a slow start after missing camp. If he continues to play this way he’s not worth playing on the team, maybe that’ll be a wake up call to get his head out of his behind.

He's on the team no matter how he plays, just on talent alone. We're not spoiled with high end forwards at the moment.

Right now he's like a 4th liner though, who you bring along just in case he explodes.
 
Still can't choose between Lehner and Marky.
Both looking very solid, not at Hank's level, but in my opinion at the moment both of them are definitely in top 10 of the best goalies in the league.
Ullström is undeniable 3rd choice, a starter for a top team. But in my opinion it will be best for Sweden if there is undisputable number 1 goalie.

Even as a flames fan, yall sure you want Andersson out there? Really dont think hes performed as well as his stats say, and hes skating is still not good. I know he wont make it but kylington has been better so far.

Both are still 2 of the top 2 way guys in the league. backlund has been a bit inconsistent so far, but he always ramps up as the season goes. If backlund makes it he shouldnt be more than a 4th line shut down c and pk1 guy. It might homerish but lindholm has been by far the best swedish forward so far imo. He is really good on the pk and can absolutely snipe the puck. He will fit anywhere in the lineup but he will perform in an offensive role with a playmaker because he knows how to get to scoring spots. I know the flames destroyed rangers twice alr as a team but lindholm has significantly out performed zib both times.

Zibanejad looks lazy this season. Hopefully for Sweden he’s more motivated. I might want him at winger, if there are enough good centers.

I would probably play him on a line with Pettersson and Filip Forsberg. One of him and Pettersson would be the winger there. I think Pettersson/Zibanejad, Bäckström, Lindholm, Eriksson Ek and Karlsson is good enough center depth to move an underperforming center to the wing.
 
Pettersson is better off playing wing. Hes terrible at faceoffs, while hes great at backchecking hes not super great defending and with defensive puck battles.
 
Sweden of course has a lot of high quality defenders, but how about the goaltender? Lehner has played a bit badly to my eye, or it could be the team ahead of him... of course there is Markstrom and Ullmark, but i don't think they're going to be the goalies that bring the gold to Sweden..
First time in my lifetime Sweden's Olympic team is not looking so overwhelming than in the past!! Even Finland is going to have a better team to this tournament if everything goes the way it's been going this season.

Zibanejad has not been so good this year, but what about Backstrom? Is he going to be as good as he was before the latest injury? I sure hope he will! Raymond should be selected to this team, he's been playing very well!!

Goaltending is a lottery in a short tournament like this. Trophies and reputation etc. can be thrown out the window when it starts.
