Raymond now has 21 points in 22 games. He is not gonna slow down. He just that good already. Should be on the team. The best should be selected, no matter age.
According to aftonbladet raymond will miss the olympics.

I want to blame garpenlov but on the other hand raymond didnt look good last season in SHL or WJC.

The 50 man submitted a month ago cant be changed at all? Like if hes flirting with top 10 in league scoring still in another month, theres no way for them to throw him on the roster? That seems really weird. Like hes tied for the lead in goals and 2nd among all Swedes in points. You would think thats a guy you would wanna bring to get experience for next Olympics. Moving foward hes likely a top 3ish Swede in the league, at least at forward

Johnsson is having a strong season.
Both him and Jesper Bratt have been really good and might be pushing for 13th forward/depth spots. However there are more established options out there that I expect to claim those spots. If I could pick one of Johnsson and Bratt, I would pick Bratt.

Yeah me too. Good to have strong options at least, because injuries will come here and there before February.

I actually don't think Larsson has been bad this season, on the contrary to be honest. He is on a really bad team though, and it is pretty hard for anyone to shine in that situation. But on most nights he's the best D on that team imo. They just came off a 5 games stint against some of the best offensive teams in the league in COL, TBL, CAR, FLA and WSH and he played the most minutes out of anyone throughout those games.

Based on these last couple of seasons and past experiences with Tre Kronor I definitely think he belongs in the conversation.

This is common in international sports including soccer and hockey.

That early preliminary list submitted during the NHL preseason was the pool of players from which they will choose the final roster to account for injuries, positive drug tests, family emergencies and other reasons. I have seen international federations deny those requests particularly in soccer, so nothing is guaranteed.

The early list gives the IOC extra time to catch drug dopers who have weaned off their drugs just before the Olympics.

If it isnt binding, why do they have to request for an exemption to allow him to play now? Seems pretty binding to me

I’m pretty sure that’s what the exemption is. You create the list and if you want to add a player or two, you tell the IIHF, and they’ll allow it.

Personally:

Forsberg-Mika-Pettersson
Landeskog-Karlsson-Lindholm
Rakell-Bäckström-Nylander
Backlund-Eriksson Ek-Hörnqvist
Silfverberg, Olofsson

Hedman-Klingberg
Brodin-Ekholm
Lindholm-OEL
Andersson, Karlsson

Markström/Lehner
Markström/Lehner
Ullmark

Karlsson will get picked over players he shouldn't be. Same with Adam Larsson. Eriksson Ek is heavily underrated amongst Swedish posters, which I find weird. He's a very good defensive center. If Klefbom is healthy and good to go, he'd be the 7D.

What in the actual f*** am I reading in here? Dahlin does not make the cut? The f*** is this nonsense?? How does anyone have 7 defenceman over him?

7 defensemen over Dahlin?

Let's see:

Hedman
Already confirmed, no need to explain further

Brodin
Playing the hockey of his life in Minnesota right now, excellent defensive D-man to complement the offensive core

Karlsson
Legend who's been playing great on both sides of the ice this year

Ekholm
Apparently a coach favorite, has been excellent the last couple of years

These four are in my opinion more or less given, then you can definitely make a case for all of these, considering all of Dahlin's defensive lapses so far:

Andersson
Lindholm
Ekman - Larsson
Kylington
Pettersson
Forsling

Ekman-Larsson, sure. There's a case to be made. As for the rest, nonsense.
Dahlin has been playing great hockey this year. His detractors are full of shit.

I really do not want Ekholm to play much, and there is no reason for him to get minutes. All of the players you mentioned have probably had better seasons than him. The sound thing to do right now would probably be to play Hedman, Brodin and Dahlin/Lindholm (depending on what style you want) on the left side and Karlsson, Klingberg and Andersson on the right. That is very nicely balanced, with offensive dynamism and defensive solidity. Ekholm is viewed as a defensive rock but he has looked pretty poor recently and I definately think Lindholm, Brodin, Hedman and Andersson are better than him in their own end while being much better passers and puck movers.

Also, I do think Dahlin should make the team and I would consider playing him on a PP unit. Hedman, Karlsson and Klingberg are obviously elite creative players, but Dahlin is not really worse than them with the puck right now. He is massively underrated and incredibly skilled. He has been great most games I have seen since Buffalo fired Krueger. He is one of the best puck moving defensemen in the world and generally good defensively.

Great depth but a bit lacking on the top end talent, hopefully Pettersson can get going. Wonder if Garpenlöv goes for a token SHL-player.

Sweden has extremely good roster depth (Especially d-wise) and Dahlin is bad. So do the math.

Our d....15 years ago was really good, with all there:

Nicklas Lidström - Mattias Öhlund
Kenny Jönsson - Niklas Kronwall
Kim Johnsson - Mattias Norstrom

Thats 6 world class players. People forget how good Kim Johnsson was. And Öhlund and Norstrom was just as good as Jonas Brodin is now. Lidström, Kronwall and Jönssons speaks for itself.
