please tell me how shipachyov is better than Zibanejad, Pettersson, Bäckström and William karlsson.
We are talking depth. He is certainly not better than Backstrom or Pettersson, but William Karlsson? Seriously? Hard to tell with Zibanejad. So yes, Shipachyov is clearly better than one center on the swedish depth chart and might be same level with another one. It has nothing to do with the fact that the swedish center depth overall is better than Russia's. Right now Shipachyov is Russia's 2C AINEC.

Also Zibanejad's PPG is 0.72.

3 days ago while talking about Shipachyov's PPG:

Uhhhmmm... you really do have a very weird concept of time it seems. It is borderline sci-fi worthy. Do we have a time machine to go get players from the past to play for us in February? Why would anybody care what those players were like 5 years ago?

Beyond hilarious.

You are still not able to use logic as it was meant to be used. Okay, if you need a lesson.

Zibanejad's PPG for this season does not exist yet.

Zibanejad's last season's PPG is .89.

You were saying? Or did you overlook I was replying to a poster claiming Zibanejad was PPG player in the NHL? No matter how you slice it he is not. Not over the course of his career or looking at the most recent data available from last season.

Shipachyov's PPG this season is just an indication that he is on the top of is game right now. Which means that he has not regressed or is having a bad season. Which means he is easily good enough to be on the team no questions asked which he also was last season and the season before that. His PPG has absolutely nothing to doe with Zibanejad's as they are from different leagues. Logic, remember? How you tie it to a completely unrelated discussion is beyond logic and should remain you little secret.

There are two two completely different discussions you mix into one for no reason. One is whether Shipachyov would make Team Sweden. The other if past accolades are relevant to selecting players for February 2022.

Shipachyov is clearly doing all that is in his power to prove he belongs on Team Russia as he should. Right here and now.

Zibanejad will start playing meaningful games soon and only then we might tell whther he is still a .8, .9 or a PPG player right now. Regardless he's obviously already has been named to Team Sweden.

All my points still stand. Shipachyov would make Team Sweden on merit. Maybe not by much, maybe as a 4th guy, but sadly for Russia he is our 2C we can't afford to lose.

Nice wall of text but again, how is .72 career PPG relevant in his case, Mr. Logic? Nice that you agree it isn't and you were just blowing smoke.

Also Zibanejad's PPG is 0.72.

zibanejad last 3 seasons is:

18-19: 74 points
19-20: 75 points in 57 games
20-21: 50 points in 56 games

its very good production from him

I dont think Shipa would have those numbers in NHL even if he is a good player. Keep in mind Zibanejad is a very hardworking gritty player who is good defensivly and still put up so many points.

you do realise william karlsson is a guy who is considered one of the better 2-way forwards in NHL?

Shipa might not even be better than Mikael Backlund.

Overrate Karlsson all you want. Invent the ususal 2-way argument anew. BTW I've never heard of him in the 2-way discussion.

That's still .77 PPG. Why would I be impressed by that? I never said Shipachyov would be a PPG player in the NHL.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, every player you like is hard working and good defensively, every player you argue against is not.

IRL that is about the production I would expect from Shipachyov with the same deployment as Zibanejad.

For the real slow, it is relevant as an answer to a the statement that he is a PPG player in the NHL. You can read this post three times if needed.

That's the usual NHL centric approach. Namestnikov and Anisimov should not be near the game roster at this point.

Neither should Gusev. Svechnikov will be top 6 also.

Gusev on a line with Kucherov is something you have no idea about apparently. Just as you don't understand that Team Russia won't have a top 6.

Gusev will need to rebound first. Being good friends with Kucherov doesn't buy him a ticket. Mikheyev undofrtunately seems to be affected by his injury more that I'd like him to be. Nichushkin is pretty redundant, I easily prefer Gurianov's goal scoring and PP ability over Nichushkin's mediocrity.

Glad you finally came around man, LOL. Went from "plays good with Kuch doesnt matter how he performed in NHL" to "just because he's FRIENDS with Kuch doesn't mean he gets on the team"

Glad you don't understand what logic is. One statement does not contradict the other. No go study logic, come back and report why both satements DO NOT mean Gusev should or should not be on the team. And it is literally in my posts you bothered to quote.

I am not saying Shipachyov would center Team Finnland 1st line, but he is miles better that anyone Finnland could have on the 4th.

Finland's fourth line is going to focus on defence. I'm not sure how Shipachov would fit in to that. He could be the 13rd forward.

The center depth is really an advantage for both Finland/Sweden.

Can't you just put Panarin, Kucherov and O'Vechkin on the ice at the same time and see what happens??

Zub should be on the roster, not having him there would be an oversight. Dude is steady as a rock on D, rarely makes a bad play and always knows what to do with the puck.

He's a right shot IIRC. He is more than a lock. It's still easy to make the russian D. We can't really be picky.

Again, it's about depth, not roles on a particular team. Behind the pretty obvious Barkov and Aho, there is not much to talk about on the finnish center depth. Again, it is still better than Russia's, but Russia's is just atrocious. Team Finnland would be glad to have a 3C like Shipachyov though. I don't see any remarkable center depth on Finnland or Sweden. They have adequate options for 1C and 2C and that's it. Sweden has Zibanejad on top of that. And Let's see how Pettersson performs this season. I like him alot and it's an understatement. But he is still young, The only team with absurd center depth is Canada. Everybody elese is not suffering from embarassment of riches.

You are forgotting Hintz. He is the 3rd C.

I am not forgetting him, I want to see how he does this season first. With Seguin out he's had all he could wish for with Dallas and he has performed. It is the same talk we have around Buchnevich. He has emerged as a two-way forward, but there are a lot of people who don't see him as a lock still. If he solidifies that rep this season he surely will be on the roster.

I obviously am talking in October 2021. By January Hintz might be a runaway 2C for Finnland... or not.
