In how many games? You sound like beating Canada is some requirement. He's never beaten Canada. Never ever.

I mean all the biggest sites report this official decision, sports.ru has "reaction interviews" with pretty much everyone on the planet. I don't think this is the case of it "not being official", it's just FHR being slow or inconcrete if anything. You know what? Again it's the KHL reporting. Why? This is a hot mess. Until there is something official from actually FHR it is a stupid, dumb, idiotic soap opera of musical chairs.
FHR only has this to offer
Экспертный совет рекомендовал назначить главным тренером национальной сборной России Алексея Жамнова
It says AGAIN "recomended". Whatever those fools mean. Can't they just shut up, not leak anything and come up with a final decision?
Sports.ru, just like a bunch of others had lengthy features, interviews and whatnot about Znarok's appointment not two days ago.I mean all the biggest sites report this official decision, sports.ru has "reaction interviews" with pretty much everyone on the planet. P.S. Cue in my post about Znarok or any other decent coach not wanting to dance to idiotic opera of musical chairs.
Kuznetsov has been suspended 4 years from international play . It also wouldn't be surprising if Malkin didn't play in the Olympics .Gusev - Namestnikov - Kucherov
Panarin - Kuznetsov - Tarasenko
Kaprizov - Malkin - Svechnikov
Mikheyev - Barbashev - Nichushkin
Radulov, Gurianov, Dadonov, Buchnevich, Ovechkin - yeah, we have a lot of good wingers.
Zaitsev - Provorov
Romanov - Sergachev
Gavrikov - Orlov
Zub, Kulikov, Zadorov
Vasilevsky
Shesterkin
Sorokin
You are bit late to the party. There is a discussion in this tread on the matter. While I personally don't believe there is any chance the FHR succeeded in lifting his suspension.Kuznetsov has been suspended 4 years from international play .

Ovechkin won't play before Gusev. Gusev is a known Team Russia warrior and has unparalleled chemistry with Kucherov, Ovechkin is trash at international tournaments. He'll be on the team, but as a figurehead.

Agree.Regarding the coach selection: who cares? This team usually gets eliminated in the quarterfinals, Zhamnov cannot fail more than his predecessors. And whether he has been recommended for the job or actually appointed, doesn't matter.
What worries me is our situation down the middle with Kuzy out and Malkin recovering from injury, but Finland in Sochi was without its top 3 centers...then again it's Finland.
By roster we're the 2nd best. Forwards are pretty close to Canada, goalies are simply the best by far, and defense is behind Canada, Sweden and USA, but the gap isn't that big. It's a pretty competent line and capable to do its job.
The main problem is coaching. With Znaroks we won't win anything.
if malkin, panarin and kuznetsov dont play, then russia dont have better forwards than canada, usa, finland and sweden.
Ovechkin - Grigorenko - Radulov
Kaprizov - Shipachyov - Tarasenko
Buchnevich - Namnestikov - A,Svechnikov
Guryanov - Barbashyov - Barabanov
What about Kucherov? And Panarin said, he wanted to play at the Olympics.
Assuming everyone (Kuznetsov however unlikely, Malkin, Shipachyov) is there I would say they’re 3rd behind Canada and the USA. Shipachyov is a player for me who is of top 6 quality in the NHL, hence why I would have them above Finland or Sweden in that departmentWell maybe then the wingers are better. But dont tell me that the russian centers are better than the centers canada usa, sweden and finland have if malkin and kuznetsov is out

That's if we disregard the fact that neither Malkin nor Kuznetsov has been particularly good recently.Assuming everyone (Kuznetsov however unlikely, Malkin, Shipachyov) is there I would say they’re 3rd behind Canada and the USA
That's only true if you define walking away as a failure. The difference between his situation and Omark's, who spent years and years trying to hang in in the NHL, is huge.He failed in Vegas.
The statement was Malkin will miss the first two months of the season at least. It won't be surprising if he doesn't play in the Olympics.Malkin has only been declared out for 2 months. He is on track to be back well before the Olympics, and will play barring any major setbacks in his training.

If Malkin doesn't play in the Olympics it won't be surprising. That would certainly be a surprise. Out two months means a return date of Dec 12th. The Olympics are in February. Even if Malkin misses an extra 6-8 weeks on top of those two months, he will still make it back in time for the Olympics.
"Ship" good player on big ice. But OG22 wiil play in nhl ice?He failed in Vegas. With your logic, Omark is top 6 quality in NHL. Shipa would not make Sweden or Finland.
Shipa-grigorenko-namnestikov-barbashev is not better center-line than barkov-aho-hintz-kotkanemi and zibanejad-pettersson-backström-william karlsson
