Team Finland 2023 U20 WJC roster talk

So long when you're not got moderation rights
you don't come to say me what i post in here and how and when understood? Have a nice day.

The first sentenxe was a joke. The overreacrion part wasn't. I wasn't tellinh you what to write here even though the forum is in English.

Compare Kapanen, Heimosalmi and Koivunen to Svozil, Kulich and Jiricek.
What does that say to you guys?

Or why not to Lundell, Heinola. Or Jokiharju and Talvitie or why not Teräväinen and Lehkonen.

Point? Lämsä get's a lot of shit, perhaps he deserves it but let's wait one more game. Even if his selections were highly questionable.
Because at the end of the day, as some have already mentioned, the players need to step up.
Heimosalmi has not looked good. Kapanen hasn’t shown he's a leader at this stage of his young career.
There are plenty of question marks.

He does. Kemell as the 13th forward and Kiviharju not even activated? Not to talk about how he got the kids to play. There was like 5 individuals playing solo all game on the ice.

Some changes that I think Lämsä need to make.

• Put Lampinen in net
• Play Kemell in a top 6 role
• Play Rönni more
• Tell Vilen to let Heimosalmi handle the puck
• Fix the god damn powerplay
ACTIVATE KIVIHARJU and maybe, just maybe, the defenders can get a pass on tape?

I'm with you on the Lämsä hate from that incident as a fellow HIFK fan (atleast meathead Tomek is not there). But still i'm willing to give them a chance, even after yesterdays game. If today there's no improvment then i might get a little worried.
It truly is mind-boggling who's brilliant idea was to bring Lämsä to U20 head coach.
Finnish hockeys 2nd important coaching position shouldn't be given only that's why
some coach is member some freaking kiss my ass inside club or sauna buddy
or some other nobody who hasn't ever won jack-shit of his coaching career.

But what you can do when other European hockey nation ( Czech's ) basically stoles
your first U20 head coach option ( K Jalonen ) to their men's national team head coach.
This freaking farce could've been avoided if K Jalonen wouldn't have gone to Czech Rebuplic.

I hope truly that this team has cojones and courage to look into mirror
and play better starting from today's Slovakia game which is now quite important
if this group of individuals wants to avoid relegation round and if Finland truly end's
up to relegation round that will be absolute failure which should lead firing Tomi Lämsä
and his incompetent coaching staff immediately after that when team is back to home.

I'm getting serious Paul Maurice vibes of Tomi Lämsä.
But the difference is that Lämsä makes Maurice look a like genius
with those boneheaded coaching methods and roster selections.

I haven't ever laughed sarcastic way to Finland's losing of U20 WJC game
but yesterday it happend and it happend only due to that i was so f***ing pissed and i'm a still pissed.

How in the hell we lost game, shots, scoring chances etc statistics.
That Switzerland game was embarrassment and now it is a goddamn time to grow the balls
and get back to work and show some f***ing pride of that lion logo
what these young man's has in their jersey.

If Lämsä won't allow this team to play free
then players shouldn't care piece of shit about that what Lämsä wants.
Lämsä is lousy joke as a U20 head coach like Harri Rindell, Hannu Jortikka and Jukka Rautakorpi were too.

And why Finland has that big coaching staff?
What type hockey success Mikkola, Pirnes, Ojanen have showed
to their coaching career to make U20 national team assistant coaches.

My eyes basically melted down of all that freaking charisma
what those prancies and Lämsä showed behind the bench yesterday
there they stand just like some freaking magpie who sat on a power line fist up into ass.

Only coaching selection what i can understand is Pekka Rinne.
Rinne's over 600 NHL regular season game experience from North American
ice is valuable for Koskenvuo, Lampinen and Kokko so he has deserved his coaching job.

I don't blame KJ for choosing a men's NT job over a junior one. Would've also preferred to just keep Pennanen, but what can you do if even a liiga job is more lucrative to coaches. I guess that's something liitto needs to look into. How long is Karri Kivi's deal with Ässät? He's someone i'd like to see back in U20 maybe next year, tho haven't followed his teams for a while.

Well let's see today's game and if Lämsä can make the right adjustments, before judgments.

Sorry if this was already answered but why was Nurmi left off? He's played pretty well this year, for the most part that I've seen, and won a silver medal in the summer for Finland. Seems strange.

Petteri Nurmi aged out... and Jesse Nurmi not good enough yet

Ah, I meant to Petteri.

I thought it was your age at the start of the year of the tournament, which he would have been 19. But it's the age 20 birthday in the year the tournament ends which is actually 2023, not 2022, so my bad.

Regarding Kemell, I think he was probably getting diminished minutes because he was under the weather. You certainly don't sit the tournament's second leading scorer from the previous year unless he's sick or hurt.

Kivi's best before date is long gone. In order to get Lämsä fired Finland would have to relegate. This talk is bit early but i would like to see Juuso Nieminen behind U20 national team bench. Young and promising coach, i don't understand why he quit so early.

Good game tonight and very important win.

Is Heimosalmi brain-dead or totally idiot
two absolutely boneheaded and idiotic penalties and 2 powerplay goals for Slovakia.
It's not rocket science to realize that if we wanna win something we can't keep taking
those boneheaded penalties which Heimosalmi took today.

I don't remember 1987 U20 WJC's ( i was 3 yrs old ).
Only U20 WJC tournament where Jortikka was head coach was 2015 so i remember that and not a good way.

Lack of center depth is really killing Finland. Kapanen is good, Päivärinta is good 4c, but Miettinen and Rönni are both "meh". Maybe they should've picked Konsta Helenius to this team? Already playing center in Liiga as a 16 year old.

Is Lämsä came crazy and lost his mind totally or why in the hell sieve Koskenvuo plays today.
Lampinen has been MUCH BETTER than Koskenvuo so he should play.

Hopefully this goalie change won't f*** up Finland's chances to win B group.
Germany would be ''easier'' opponent to quarterfinal than talent loaded Canada, Sweden and Czech's.
Koskenvuo needs to stand on his today with that mickey mouse defence if we wana win the game.
f***ing Lämsä.

It's still a preliminary game, nothing more nothing less. These are times to do changes if they still want to try things out. Yes, Germany will be easier but it doesn't change anything. You still need to beat Canada or Sweden or Czechs. They don't thing anything else than gold, just like they should.

Well let's think it this way: If Koskenvuo shits the bed against USA, then Lampinen is clearly the starter in elimination games. Lampinen should already be the starter clearly, but whatever.
