Rajala out, Innala in for today. Olkinuora starts in goal.

I called that one few days ago. Innala deserves his chance. He's been slightly better than Rajala even with Rajala scoring that goal. I think that the great goal that Rajala did saved him and for that reason he played against Latvia instead of Innala.

I'm a bit bummed that they are keeping Granlund in the wing of the first line. This could very well be a sign that the last registration slot will be used on a defender, as if they don't want to do a big revamp on that second line, instead just small adjustments.

I'm going to say that they get Määttä for the last slot, because otherwise they would've announced the other D-man coming from Dallas while they announced Heiskanen. Jalonen probably loves Määttä anyways as Määttä has been good in Jalonen's teams.

Lines in the practice earlier today:

45 Jussi Olkinuora

1:
64 Mikael Granlund (A) – 65 Sakari Manninen – 70 Teemu Hartikainen
4 Mikko Lehtonen – 38 Juuso Hietanen

2:
82 Harri Pesonen – 51 Valtteri Filppula (C) – 10 Joel Armia
50 Mikael Seppälä – 55 Atte Ohtamaa

3:
21 Jere Innala – 91 Juho Lammikko – 76 Jere Sallinen
3 Niklas Friman – 42 Sami Vatanen

4:
80 Saku Mäenalanen – 24 Hannes Björninen – 12 Marko Anttila (A)
2 Ville Pokka

13. forward:
25 Toni Rajala

It's not. It's very relevant to the tournament. I do not believe this Finland roster has any defenceman anywhere near the caliber of Dahlin, and that could be important.

Not even close.
Seider is offensively as good as Dahlin and defensively he is way better.

But guess you haven't watched Seider.

I hope they eventually move Granlund to center.

Dahlin is one of the best passers and transition players in the world. I think he is way better than Seider with the puck. Similar defensively. I would take Dahlin over the likes of Fox, already, even as a Rangers fan. I think he was a top 5/10 D in the world for the last 5 months this season.

I rate Seider very highly too. Think he is the calder winner and a future top 10 defenceman in the NHL. Just very very few players I take over Dahlin.

I think the problem with all of your assessments is that they are outdated and don't recognize the defensively sound player Dahlin has developed into.

Let's see who gets the last stamp. If it's haula then i'd be happy with this type of offensive line-up:

pesonen - manninen - hartikainen
rajala - granlund - armia
haula - filppula - sallinen
mäenalanen - björninen - anttila
13. lammikko

or if Jalonen wants to do as few changes as possible:

granlund - manninen - hartikainen
lammikko - haula - rajala
pesonen - filppula - armia
mäenalanen - björninen - anttila
13. sallinen
I want both Granlund at center snd Sallinen out.

He said "Heiskanen is the best defenceman in the tournament". I said "No, he isn't, because Dahlin is".

6 finns have voted already. Not exactly fair. Swedes don't care enough to vote because we have so many good defencemen.

Of course it isn't accurate right from the get go. I mean let it age for couple of days I guess. As long as it stays on the first page of that poll sub forum some non Finnish and non Swedish posters will give it some votes to make it less biased. I'm personally not saying that Heiskanen wins that poll but I think that he probably will win it. Let the voters decide it I guess.

I think I've had enough of this debate now. You have your opinion and I have mine so its fair.

Yeah I guess. Not that HFboards voters can change my mind, or your mind, at all.

I'd want that too but will Jalonen actually go messing with the PK units in the middle of a tournament? Personally I think that he won't. Jalonen loves Sallinen so he'll keep him there.

This Finnish interview guy in Helsinki for cmore is absolutely terrible and makes me want to facepalm every question he asks. So awkward..

If no more help from NHL or otherwise, these would be my forward lines.

I actually like the innala lamikko Sallinen line. Innala over Rajala every day for me. Good balance for me and good speed with Innala Lamikko. I like it personally and looking forward to the game now.

If a chap like Erik Haula can play center game in game out in Boston Bruins second-line - then he sure can do it on Finland Lions second-line too.
Period.

Then I want Sallinen out of the troop all together and a faster in(-nala)!

So one Jere out - one Jere in.

Weird flex from Sweden guy to praise Sweden players in Finland thread lol

Does saying ”Dahlin is better than Heiskanen” make you a troll? No, it’s voicing an opinion about a player on Team Finland and relevant to the thread. We won’t discuss it more though. I am happy with Dahlin, enjoy your Heiskanen.
How is it relevant to the thread to have yet another Dahlin vs. Heiskanen pissing contest? We’ve had plenty of those. Thanks I will enjoy Heiskanen.

He is not even playing PK. Björninen-Anttila and Lammikko-Mäenalanen are the two main units.

On the powerplay pretty much anybody could play as the netfront guy instead of Sallinen
