I’m pleasantly surprised Toronto didn’t choke. I really thought they were going to. I think this tournament is for young players. The years of having veterans play in the world championships are over (I’m talking about canadien players) unless it’s an Olympic year.

I could see Hagel going for the experience. I think Cirelli and Point are banged up and probably would like the extended offseason. Stamkos has two young kids and hasn't been able to spend an extended summer with them before. Killorn is a pending free agent and might not risk it.

As I said before, put QB on the team - he's young, likely without commitments, and he could use the minutes.

If the Rangers lose, LAF should be forced to go to the WC (at gun point if necessary) by the Rangers - I get the impression LAF is lazy.

Any news ? Usually I hear names before even the end of the season or at least right after end of season. This is unusually long to not even have a team. Usually 3/4 of the team is complete by now

I doubt they want the media hassle anyway so they won’t invite him but the fact only CHL players were involved would make it seem as if there’s no cloud of suspicion hanging over his head

That entire WJC team is suspended from Hockey Canada. It's not about him being under suspicion or not.

MacKinnon has told the media that he wants the chance to play on a line with Marchand and Crosby. That was in reference to the World Cup or Olympics though. Not sure they, particularly the older two, would agree to go to this tournament just for that.
