World Cup: 4 Nations Tournament - Team Sweden (2025)

Many head coaches thru the years have been loyal to a selected few players. Either they had those players in juniors, sees something in them that we do not see, players never turn down national team when called upon, they have naked photos of the coach or similar. Zib fits in on one of those. Or several of them.

Isn’t the next game for Sweden on Saturday?

I think it’s still Gustavsson’s crease though despite the loss.
That was a Tuesday post.

I would say Gustavsson plays again. Not sure what the Swedes will do with their slow center situation. Had some nice performances from some wingers.

I can see Andersson in for Dahlin if the trust for Dahlin is this low.

The lack of trust in Dahlin doesn't make sense. He played pretty damned well.

Zib wasn't bad last night. I was pleasantly surprised about his skating speed and effort level. Did not look out of place. Nylander was much worse.

Wondering if Sweden will figure out that Dahlin is their best defenseman before the tournament is over.

Everyone knows who the best defenceman on the ice was last night, and it wasn't Dahlin.

Apparently EK claims he played 12 seconds in OT.

You would have to talk to the coach about it.

I do think they need to make way for another right shot. So unless they go 11/7.. someone is out.

The obvious pairing to mess with is Brodin-Hedman. Those guys got hemmed in their own end over and over again yesterday. Dahlin, OTOH, was probably Sweden’s best player.

On Brodin- Yes, he can play on the offside, but against the best in the world he is at a disadvantage there. Not sure there is much you can do about it, given SWE personnel. He is also a good choice for 3 v3, as it gives him room to use his wheels.

Hedman looked off... had some bad reads.

EK... up and down. His lack of conscience can kill you defensively, so he's got to "hit" his chances for him to be an asset.

Dahlin was vg.

Forsling...meh.

I didn’t see the game was surprised too see Brodin and Forsling getting the nod over Andersson.

How did the forwards look? Apart from Bratt and Raymond being excellent and JEE being JEE.

That’s Hedman on team Sweden for you. Maybe apart from the 2017 Worlds.

Honestly I don’t mind Brodin. Definitely have Lindholm and Larsson over him though. Wouldn’t have minded OEL being on the team either. Great guy and fiercely loyal to team Sweden.

I felt Ekholm and Dahlin were the 2 best D on the ice for Sweden. Shame the coach couldn't see it.
