That tweet is weird. So is Power already gone? We were expecting the Olympians to be around for the Gopher-Michigan series this weekend.

I bet it's a typo and should be Jan 26. Otherwise that camp is excessively long.

This is pretty solid. I wouldn't take Marner, and Kyrou seems like quite the reach?

The D looks great.

The D looks great.

I felt Marner was just to skilled as a natural winger to not make the team.

Kyrou is a bit of a stretch but he’s having a great season and has always looked good whenever I watch him. I also think he wouldn’t have any issues playing on the wing.

Who would you have taken?

Good points on both players.

One guy that I would want on the team is Tom Wilson.

After that I'd give serious consideration to Horvat and Hyman

Taking someone like Tom Wilson scares me. Especially with the IIHF reffing.

I like Hyman and playing with McDavid helps but I feel we still had better options.

As for Horvath, Canada would have already had too many 2-way center types on the team.

The hardest name to leave off was Scheifele. I guess he would be my replacement if Couturier couldn’t play.

Why are we discussing this, NHL players aren't going, move on........

Because this tournament is barely watchable without NHL players and it’s still a fun topic discussion.

The fact that we can’t watch Crosby,McDavid,Mackinon and Makar play on the same team is upsetting. Especially when the alternative is Eric Staal and Brandon Pirri

That's way worse frankly. It's like reopening a fresh wound. What's the point, just do a fantasy league.

I have no insights on the players they are currently floating as making the team and would appreciate if the thread focused more on who's actually on the team from people that actually have watched some of these players play, rather than fantasy teams that someone could make any time of the year given we are what, just over two weeks away?

If asked I'd still rather they win Gold than go medal less given it's still Canada at the Olympics but obviously like almost everyone on this thread... I'd barely care enough to watch the highlights. Maybe the game vs. China for the pure novelty. That actually might be like a 3-0 game rather than the 15-0 we had expected.

I was looking forward to the ass whooping we were going to give China more then anyone. Much more competitive now.

For the record, Kyrou has never played center at the professional level.

Owen Powers is probably in. are 1st round picks that have signed an entry level contract but not in the AHL or NHL allowed? Probably a ton of KHLers, and so for will be our hope of regaining glory.
