I don't know much about NCAA hockey but it sounds like Levi has been ridiculous this year. He was certainly great that the WJC. No idea if he's on the radar but he's exactly the kind of player I'd like to see getting some international reps.

It's tough to watch the NCAA up here in Canada but it's really hard to ignore a goalie putting up a 0.953 SV% in 21 games when the next closest goalie with +20 GP is at a 0.935 SV%. Can already tell you he's better than Dubnyk haha.

It would be a damn shame if he isn't. I'd be naming him to both the Olympic team and the WHC team (if there is one) now. today.

yep count him in

sure, he is a shadow of what he was, but in tournament with no nhlers, he will be very good.

btw if i where evander kane, i would wait to play in nhl and go play in the olympics first. its his only chance to ever play in the olympics.

Sure, sign him up for both, especially the IIHF WC. If Canada can get a promising goaltender out of (relative) nowhere then that's great for the future. I will be somewhat surprised if the NCAA guys are interested in the Olympics honestly, but I'd be happy to see Power go after his coach held him out of the 2021 WJC. I seem to recall that Makar turned down a chance to go to the 2018 Olympics and stayed with his NCAA team, which seems to have worked out for him.

Honestly I don't think Team Canada would want Kane representing them at an international competition, less so in China which could create huge problems.

So that would be zero chance.

Kane? The dude not following COVID-19 protocols.... at an international tournament....

:biglaugh:

Roster in.

Bobby Ryan couldn't make Team USA, but Dany Heatley is on Team Canada?

Fake news lol

I really hope Canada doesn’t bring an old team like they always do. I’d rather lose with a young team then lose with an old team

team USA I think will be mostly university kids. I would like Canada to get a combination of university, chl , ahl younger below 30.

staal can stay home

do a mix of both and bring home the gold.

Edit: Fake roster.

When I first saw it it looked somewhat legit but at second glance Heatley and Phanuef threw me off. Richards as well given hes basically completely disconnected from hockey

Side note - Power at his age playing in the WHC and Olympics before getting to the NHL is something that we likely won't see for a while. IIRC Lindros did the Canada Cup + Olympics before his debut.

(without checking I imagine Russia had some younger KHL guys who've done so already but a much different situation)

Evander Kane can’t afford to throw away any potential salary.
