Edmundson and Hoffman

(Monahan IF healthy)

I agree with all of this. We gotta pray Eddy and Monahan get healthy again, though I think it's too late for Monahan...

I'm ok with moving Savard, and going with Barron, Kovacevic, and one of Eddy or Matheson on the right side...

I hope we move Anderson, though we might have to take a contract back given how tight teams are with the cap, as we did when we traded Petry for Matheson. Though I hope we'd get a 1st too...

We really need to put Dvo on the wing with Caufield and Suzuki. This will get his production up and allow him to be traded. Go with Suzuki, Dach, Evan's, and Belzile at C. Or re-sign Monahan to a 1 year deal as well.
Savard is way more useful to Habs than Edmundson.

Can t see who would be interested in Habs players. Dadonov, Drouin, Wideman have been super bad. Monahan Edmunson have been injured too much. Hoffman has been disappointing and I am not sure anybody goes for 2 years of him. Anderson Savard are the most likely trade candidate right now but don’t see Savard being moved given lack of RHD depth. Matheson has too much term and was injured too much, Dvorak was likely too bad this year if the goal is to get a 1st back right now.
He could keep Anderson until the summer. Use him as main trade chip in Dubois trade. Jets in bind with Dubois, Habs might get deal on him.

Keep Anderson to play with Dubois. Dubois for a full season rental is not worth Anderson for a few seasons in a growing cap.

Panthers pick, Armia, and Kidney. Take it or leave it. That's what I would tell the Jets and I don't see another other team being able to trump it cause they will want sign/trade and Dubois will not play nice in that area. If he does, let him go. The idea here is we offer Trouba trade value and we are not going to go higher.

Will someone dig deep and give us our asking price on Anderson at this deadline? It's not impossible but it's not probable. We will have to see how the dominos fall in terms of teams missing on their targets and circling back to other options they considered.

I voted 4.
* Monahan or Dvorak
* Edmundson
* Two of Hoffman, Dadonov, Drouin. (return will be low due to cap hit and them being soft wingers).
* Anderson is a possibility but not going to hold my breath

Trade deadline :
-Edmundson for a 2nd
-Monahan (if healthy) for a 2nd (with retention) or perhaps a young prospect like Justin Barron
-Dadonov for a 7th (with retention)
-Drouin for a 7th (with retention)
-Wideman for a 7th
-Pitlick for a 6th

Summer:
-Dvorak traded for a late 1st at the draft
-Kovacevic for a 3rd
-Jake Allen for a 2025 2nd rounder
-Hoffman bought out
-Armia traded for a struggling player with a smaller salary and less terms

Sign a top-6 forward and veteran defenseman (or trade for)

Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Anderson
?-Dach-Caufield
Ylonen-Evans-Gallagher
Pezzetta-RHP-Richard

Guhle-?
Matheson-Savard
Xhekaj-Harris-Barron

Montembeault-Primeau

IF we get Bedard

Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Bedard
Anderson-Dach-Caufield
no buyouts for any reason, i would rather waive the player, or pay the player to be in the minors(bury the contract)

If we trade Monahan for a 1st, a prospect and an attractive cap dump, I will count that as 4 trades, that is how I will get to 7 muhahahaha! 7 parts exchanged. Like that Romonov Dach trick shot was like 5 or 6?!?

-I expect a losing Dru trade (it will be played in a "looking after his mental health and trading him to a quieter market" spin....)
-I hope Dadonov (just because)
-I understand If Monahan is healthy (what I hope and what actually happens will be night and day...)
-i figure some sort of MB nickel and dime effort to look busy and somehow gaining a draft pick or two

what should happen is a complicated three team swap where Montreal ends up with a first rounder and high end prospects

Off season
I would like moved...
- Hoffman
-Armia
-Dvorak

I see a few signings...
-large impact player
or
-a few connected players tied to Hugh's being a players agent

I'd love to see a couple top 10 picks

I pray for a miracle in Bedard

I worry about goaltending

If we get a late first, think we could trade all 3 first round picks for Bedard?
lmao, in your dreams.

Pretty hard to lose since there is nothing to gain. We can just wait until his contract expire and move on.

We need to see a healthy and productive Monahan and Edmundson out of this break.
It seems too quiet on the Monahan front........we can hope for the best but it sure doesn't look good for getting anything for him.....
All of a sudden injuries are a big part of what can even be considered on deadline day.......
Thinking we could be a broker as a 3rd team on a deal where we take on $$$ for a deal between two other teams....

Would you trade Bedard for three 1st round picks? I wouldn't. I wouldn't even trade Bedard for picks 2, 3, 4.

Would you trade McDavid for Eichel, D Strome, and Marner? Something to ponder but I probably keep McDavid as well.

I don't see us getting much as the 3rd wheel in helping cap space. Actual money paid out for someone like Kane or Toews would be $2.9M x 50% retention x 25% of a season = $363k. Many owners on teams with cap space would be open to that so our leverage is little. Klingberg has the highest actual salary at $7M and his prorated actual cost would be $875k. The money is not high enough for a team like the Coyotes to say no to as well.

Top Salary guys in order are Klingberg, Kane, Toews, Dadonov, Monahan, E Johnson, ROR, Tarasenko, Drouin.

Wow... Habs have 3 of the highest salary guys as pending UFA's.

Do we have actual Cap Space at this point with all the injuries? That might end up being our most valuable asset this year...

Nope. Not much. Price on LTIR before the season started means we could not accrue cap space as the season moved along.

Also, Having guys on IR is not good. They don't count on the roster spot but they do count against the cap and it gets worse cause you replace them with someone which chews into cap space more per/game.

Doesn't matter. The leverage of being a 3rd team to help out playoff teams with limited cap is just not there. There are lots of teams in the bottom 10 that can do what we can do and the actual prorated salary is just not high enough to scare away a team like the Coyotes. Someone like P Kane only cost $363k of actual dollars to retain 50% for 25% of a season. His actual salary this year is $2.9M because the Bonus was paid already.

Capfriendly says we have 6.96 M of unused space..........that's a chunk of money....

It also says our projected cap space is $0. Doesn't really matter that much in the end cause the cost of being that 3rd wheel to help playoff teams with their cap is more directly related to actual dollars. We don't have that much leverage when the cost for any owner to help retain is $500k or less which is the case for most if not all the guys available at this deadline. Our finanical leverage is not not there cause the Coyotes won't be scared from trying the same thing when the actual cost is not that much. Much different than taking on Monahan for a full season.

If we were the only team with cap space, that would be a different story. I don't see us being able to get anything more than a 3rd or 4th rounder to help with the cap.

Everyone he wants to trade are all broked#$k so he may move very little.
Who wants our trash?
Trash comment excludes Monahan and Edmundson.
Excludes any young player who may get traded.

I heard a rumor that Monahan is no longer with us and they are just Weekend at Bernies-ing him around the ice just to avoid questions and commenting on his status.
