Anderson > we can still use him no rush to trade him. His value will be higher in the next couple of years.

Hoffman > no rush to trade him, better keep him and hope he has a good season and trade him when is value is higher.

Monahan > might not be worth much, trade if you can.

Edmundson > his back is finished, trade if possible.

Drouin > very low value if any, maybe a team takes a chance if he's healthy.

Gallagher > untradeable.

Armia > very low trade value, bad contract.

Dadonov > very low trade value.

So that's it really, I don't see much happening at the deadline. The off-season could bring us Dubois.
what he said…..

Teams are especially looking for veteran dmen at the deadline so last year it was easy to move Chiarot and Kulak. Would imagine teams will kick the tires on Edmundson and Savard but there is no rush to move them, should only be if they get a fair price which to me should include a good young dman in return somewhere.

Seems like the main ufas are question marks health wise except Dadonov who I would be surprised if he is moved based on his season. If I was a team trading for Monahan, I would want some assurances he will be available for the playoffs, in other words conditional draft pick or picks. Believe they will move as many ufas as they can.
Why target a good young Dman as the return? With Ghule, Barron, Harris, and Xhekaj we are loaded with young D at the NHL level. Kovacevik, Mailloux, Hutson are also all pushing for roster spots in the short term so there really isn't much room for an already drafted D unless they are projected to be 1st pairing (Which we wouldn't get as a return in an Eddy/Savard trade).

I see what you are saying. Personally finding a way to get a legit #1 D would be a priority in terms of D... but I agree that more NHL ready types might not be the right more unless they are better than what we currently have.

1. Tierney (a waiver pickup is a roster move is a trade, right?)
2. Dadonov
3. He'll find a taker for Hoffman who's had, what, 15 points in 19 games?

I think 3 is the right answer

Currently sitting at one trade.

Don't expect much more, but hope to be proven wrong.

Looks like 3 is the absolute maximum.

One broker trade.
Possibility of Anderson, Edmundson, Monahan or Drouin but unlikely any happen at the deadline.

One or two more.
I doubt Drouin is moved...I expect no one will want him.
Edmundson maybe.

I'm hoping movement happens by the TDL, but if we have to wait for the summer... so be it. Rebuilding is a long-game, so let's not be afraid of playing it. Needs will open up as teams lose UFAs and other teams start pushing for the playoffs in 2024. We're not getting more 2023 1st-rounders, so let's hope HuGo can pull off more deals like Kirby Dach and maybe add another 2024 1st.

1) One retention spot with Dadonov.

2) Another retention spot with Kane to the Rangers as the 3rd team. Wondering if this is true? I have my doubts but not sure. It's possible that we have this on the table but it's delayed due to other potential moves.

If 1 and 2 above are two retention spots. Who are we using the last one on?

* Monahan with conditions? Or are we just going to keep him due to the injury issues.

* Edmundson? We don't have to trade him if we don't like the value being offered. We can consider moving him in the off season

* Anderson? Not sure if Gorton/Hughes would retain down to $4M - $5M range or not. I guess that depends on the offers and what the other teams cap looks like

* Hoffman? Drouin? Not sure we can move them but we did move Dadonov for a better return than we all expected.

Since I didn't think it was possible to trade Dadonov but he's gone now, I think there is a market for Drouin at 50%.

Edmundson is as good as gone once he gets to play at least one game to show he's fine now.

Monahan won't be traded, but Dvorak might. A few teams are looking for middle-6 centers and there isn't much available with all the injuries. But I wonder how much Hughes is ready to trade him with the Habs injuries...

A team who needs a bottom gritty guy and PKer might ask for Pezz.

So 5 trades total I guess, but probably more like 3 of them.

I first though it was 5 but since Monahan won't be coming back, I'm dropping it to 4.....hey, I'm optimistic although I know it's a long shot.
Everybody on this team can be traded for the right price.

1- Dadonov is one
2- With his return, Edmundson is a good bet
3- One of Drouin or Hoffman
4 - Either a cap space move to get a pick or a small depth move like Pitlick, Kovacevic maybe even Pezz.

Let's go!

I doubt Monahan is going anywhere; I'm not even sure they'll bring him back. It's a shame, because he's damn good when he plays, but how much confidence can any team have – including us – that he'll have any impact before being hurt again?

Edmundson is the best bet to be traded before the weekend. Returns are so whacky I won't even guess what he'll get.

Hoffman has trade value for a win-now team. He'd be the next most likely to go, IMO.

Anderson is an impact player who also comes with a big cap hit. I doubt Habs want to retain much, so I could see a 2024 1st or a younger player/prospect coming back.

And then there's the possibility Hughes puts together an old-fashioned trade with a less likely candidate, like Dvorak, Allen, etc.

I voted 4 trades and 3 more to go. For all we know, we end up trading Pitlick as one of them. Kulak came out of nowhere last year.

Carolina is looking at Hayes.

HuGo needs to step in and offer Dvorak. He better get on the train before he leaves, theres no hard feelings with Bergevin gone.

all the value assets are broken, and sidelined. The best move would be to trade the entire medical / training staff and leave the rost alone at this point

I think some people are undervaluing Hugo creativity.. Having guys like Drouin, Monohan, Gallagher, Edmunson, etc.. who are always on the LTIR can come in serious value to a Cup contender. Most of the teams who are in the playoff hunt and aspire to a Cup run would be thrilled with any of these guys at their disposal.

Think Tampa (when they beat us for the SC). playoff rosters dont count towards the cap. so if we were to trade Monohan, the receiving team will immediately place him on LTIR - give him the remainder of the season to recoup and train and then be ready for playoffs (FOR FREE).

Lets pretend we are Edmonton --- why not trade a couple of pieces to the Habs to get Edmunson, Gallagher and Monahan, have them finish the year on the LTIR and be ready to play come playoffs. This still alows them to go after more help in the playoff push, and then when the playoffs start they can activate the LTIR and bring in 3 playoff warriors.
