It's hard to believe that any gm would want any of our trade bait unless they get it really cheap. If Monahan had managed to remain healthy he would have been our best bet for a first-rounder. Edmundson is really just a bottom 3 defender on a good team and won't be getting us a big haul either. As for the rest, we could give them away I guess lol. There is always the possibility of a hockey trade but those usually come during the draft.
I keep hoping there is another Bergevin out there.

I think a lot of disappointment is coming…
Our main assets are injured.
Our other UFAs are trash.
Our players with contracts aren’t as likely to be traded before off-season.

My guess is 1 or 2.

Hopefully 3 trades to use all of 3 retaining sloth.

Monahan at 50% for a 2024 2nd
Edmundson at 50% for a 2023 1st + B value
Hoffman at 50% for a 4th

Dvorak > tradeable (probably keeping him)

Pezetta > very low value to worthless

Matheson > tradeable (probably keeping him)

Savard > tradeable (probably keeping him)

Kovacevic > very low value to worthless

Wideman > very low value to worthless

There already is all the room necessary for kids to play with all the injuries. I'm expecting little movement from this team. The off-season should be more active and hopefully bring us PLD.
Pezzeta and kovacevic definitely both have moderate value. 6-7th defenseman at league minimum is okay, and Pez could be retained at 50%. They are worth a 4th or 5th each.

I think the Best we can hope for is 3… my guess is Monahan, Edmundson and some minor deal.
I think David Savard could be low key a "big" fish. He's having a good season and he's on a relatively good contract. But he's a good vet to have around so KH will probably need a king's ransom to let him go like Anderson.

Many teams are on their last legs. I think some GMs will panick after missing on the bigger fishs and will MB themselves trying to find diamonds in the rough.

The team spent a long time and auditioned a lot of candidates before acquiring someone like Anderson. Many teams are still looking. I can understand Hughes reluctance to give him up. It'll be Monahan or his cap space. That's not even a sure thing and it won't be much.

I think 2 semi big moves

2 of Anderson, Dvorak, Monahan, Hoffman, and Edmundson

and 1-2 minor moves

Drouin, Dadanov, Wideman, Allen, or Kovacevic

Better off keeping them both. 4th's and 5th's do nothing for us. We have enough draft picks and prospects, too many even.

I don't even mind selling cheap on a few of these bums. We are better without Drouin, Dadonov, Hoffman, Dvorak, Armia etc

I went with 5 trades.

1- Monahan
2- Edmundson
3- Wideman or Kovacevic
4- One trade for pick against some cap space to facilitate another trade
5- One of Drouin, Dadonov or Hoffman
I think I agree. I said 3 before but could be 5. He might not move Anderson. But could be third team in a trade, retain salaries. For cap reasons.

We can package multiple picks/prospects together for higher quality picks/prospects. Let's turn these players that won't be contributing to our next playoff team into assets that contribute to that team.

It's hard to believe the money that the above 5 have earned in the NHL with so little to show for it. 24 million for those guys with a combined 23 goals scored between them. Molson paid just over a million for each goal from the fab 5 lol. Talk about inflation and then talk to Jeff.

Could go as high as 7-8 trades technically but that would be extreme but with the tons of injuries, they created cap space they could use at this TDL as Cap space is a problem for many team in the race.

HuGo have been one of the most active GMs, either it's at last TDL and the Draft.

Sounds good in theory.

Nobody wants those bums mentioned. Dvorak has value but the rest are liabilities. Hoffman will be traded closer to the end of his contract.

Drouin, Dadonov, Hoffman, Dvorak, Armia,
Monahan ,Edmundson ,and savard could be moved .But Dvorak and savard might be kept to help fill spots until young players can take spots .

3 trades
-One major trade (decent return) involving Monahan or Edmundson, depending on which of the two isn't injured by the TDL
-One minor trade involving one of our dead wood players, we'll complain about the low return
-One AHL trade

Plus maybe one trade for an ugly contract with a pick or prospect attached to it
