the cap is going up. jordan greenway was just handed a 4 million dollar contractMy problem is that 5.4 million for 20 goal scorer is not a steal
20 goal scorer on Seattle and Columbus. What does that translate to in Tampa? 30? 35?My problem is that 5.4 million for 20 goal scorer is not a steal
Do they all have to be steals? The team is a lot better than it was this morning. We addressed two of the biggest team needs in one move, while still looking like the league's most flexible UFA shopper come July.My problem is that 5.4 million for 20 goal scorer is not a steal
For two 1sts and a 2nd yes that's what you expectDo they all have to be steals?
You know how everyone knows this is a more than fair trade for our situation? My problem is that 5.4 million for 20 goal scorer is not a steal
They really don't. If the team is improving, it's better to do it than not do it. We have a limited amount of time to capitalize on what could be the best core we ever see.For two 1sts and a 2nd yes that's what you expect
Don't want to get into a big back-and-forth, but not so sure about that lolThey really don't. If the team is improving, it's better to do it than not do it. We have a limited amount of time to capitalize on what could be the best core we ever see.
I mean over the span of the last half decade or so: Hedman, Kucherov, Point, Vasy, mainly. It's going to be very hard to get better than that in our lifetimes, even if once upon a time they were better. So we have to surround that group with as much as we can.Don't want to get into a big back-and-forth, but not so sure about that lol
I’ll do one better and say that if he pots 25+ with half of those on the PP AND elevates Cirelli’s play… then hopefully all the bitching and moaning will stop what was given up.If Bjorkstrand puts up 25 playing on the second/third line, that is going to be awesome.
Gourde likely isn't the same, but there's a chance he's better under Coop than he has been in Seattle. So is everyone happy with this move? That’s two middle 6 forwards, righty shot, etc. Is Gourde still the same? He’s 33 now
Age doesn't matter that much when your window is Hedman.JBB paid 2 1sts for Hagel but he was RFA with a great contract not 5.5 million 30 years old
This is an overpayment in my opinion, plain and simple. Instead of haggling over cost JBB got the player he wanted instead of getting a less ideal fit. This is what he does and if Bjorkstrand plays amazing here it’s worth every bit.JBB paid 2 1sts for Hagel but he was RFA with a great contract not 5.5 million 30 years old
Spot on. I watch a fair amount of the Krak and he got the nick “The Maestro” (in CBJ) for a reason. Guy is smart and can control the play when he has the puck on his stick. Great addition and if with 38 and 71, should be a SOLID two-way line,I’ll do one better and say that if he pots 25+ with half of those on the PP AND elevates Cirelli’s play… then hopefully all the bitching and moaning will stop what was given up.
Doubtful though - this is HF after all
He is awesome on the forecheck, from the red line out he’s absolutely responsible and, as I stated earlier, he’s got a decent wrister and excellent in tight.
I will say this, though… The key to his success is going to be Anthony and Bagel needing to let the play flow through him and not TO him all the time
He is absolutely gonna make that line better but 71 and 38 will need to be a touch more selfish

It's true but Hagel can be traded when the window is closed.Age doesn't matter that much when your window is Hedman.
Congratulations, there are two of us nowThis is an overpayment in my opinion, plain and simple.
